Movie Review: The Hunger Games

                                                      The Hunger Games:Review
The Hunger Games is set in a post-apocalyptic future were the country is divided into 12 districts and a girl and a boy from each district between the ages of 12-18 are forced to compete in the Hunger Games a reality show were they battle to death and the last one alive is the winner. Our main character Katiness(Jennifer Lawrence who I know from X-Men: First Class) is from district 12 and she volunteer to be in the games in her sister's place and since she knows how to hunt she's good with a bow and arrow but she has a bit of trouble with the whole making the audience like her part. Our other main character is Peeta(Josh Hutcherson who I know and love from Bridge to Terabithia) the boy from district 12 who has had a crush on Katiness forever and he knows how to make people like him but he lacks the fighting skills Katiness has.

The film is extremely well made the sets fit perfectly for how they were described in the book and the hair and make up perfectly captured the eccentric style of the people who live in the capital which was a little hard to imagine in the book. All of the acting was good, which is what made me so much more invest in the movie when compared to the book, it made me a lot more emotional attached to the characters. The fight scenes(or in some cases slaughter scenes) were done in  way were it felt brutal and gory without a ton of blood being shown.

The movie was pretty close to the book but with a few scenes changed or cut out but it also had a few scenes that were added. The added scenes included scenes between the Gamemaker and President Snow, behind the scenes work in how the game was controlled and broadcast commentary which all helped to expanded on what the purpose of the Hunger Games was. Another added scene was Cato's monologue towards the end about him being dead already which I loved.

I overall loved this movie and felt that it was faithful to the book. Please tell me your thoughts about the movie in the comment section below.
