Manga Review: Tokyo Babylon Vol.3

                                                    Tokyo Babylon Vol.3 Review
In this volume a group of three high school girls who believe they are the chosen ones are recklessly using different types of magics to curse people over the phone, who's phone numbers end in 1999 because they believe they will be involved in the battle for the end of the world,Subaru is hired to stop this girls. Subaru soon discovers that the girls are amateurs and therefore do not know the consequences of the spells they are casting which makes Subaru want save the girls from themselves. Subaru is able to help one of the girls but the other  two still believed him to be the enemy so they attack him. After Subaru is knocked out by one of the girls spells Seishiro tells the girls who are continuing with their rants about being special and the chosen ones that he doesn't really care what they think but he isn't going to let them harm another hair on his Subaru's head nor is going to allow himself to to be attack so when the girls attack him he sends it right back to them and it causes some pretty serious mental damage to them. The volume ends with Subaru feeling guilty about not being able to save the girls from themselves but luckily Hokuto is able to cheer him up with making him see that he can use this as a learning experience.

Also in this volume Subaru and Seishiro went on a bit of a date(except Subaru doesn't consider it a date even it pretty much is) and had their compatibility tested by giving there birthday and birth place(which if you read enough Clamp works you know that this is consider information that is dangerous to give out to magic users). Hokuto looks through their compatibility sheet later and remarks how she doesn't quite think Seishiro horoscope sign suites him and that she thinks their compatibility score is wrong because she is of course the number one Subaru/Seishiro shipper. I also continue to love how Hokuto and Seishiro talk about Subaru and Seishiro getting married with Subaru getting all embarrassed by it.

I overall loved this volume even though this story isn't one of my favorites of the series it's still pretty good and I continue to love the characters and their interactions and the artwork. Please tell me your thoughts on this volume or series.

Manga Review: Tokyo Babylon Vol.2

                                                    Tokyo Babylon Vol.2 Review
In this volume Subaru helps out a childhood crush a girl named Mitsuki who fell asleep one day four months ago and hasn't woken up but there's no medical reason for this so it's Subaru's job to find out what's wrong with her. Subaru enters her dream and he learns that after she was raped she tried to forget about it but couldn't and then she wish to go to sleep and not wake up so she wouldn't have to face the real world. Subaru is able to convince her that it would make everyone happier if she would wake up again and by the end of the story she does.

The second and final story of this volume is about how Hokuto helps out a girl who she thought was under attack and how the two of them become friends. It turns out the girl was a foreigner who is working as a call girl in order to send money back to her family and the people that Hokuto saved her from were the police. Since Hokuto is a really cool person she accepts all this about the girl and the two of them become friends.

Also in this volume there's mentions of the Sakurazukamori, an onmyoji who uses his powers to kill. It's also mentioned that Subaru wears gloves at all times even when he sleeps because his grandmother tells him to. There's also lovely interactions between our main characters that I loved.

I overall really enjoyed this volume. Please tell me your thoughts on this volume or series as a whole.

Manga Review: Tokyo Babylon V.1

                                                    Tokyo Babylon V.1Review
Tokyo Babylon is a series by Clamp that was written in the early 1990s and is a prequel series to X/1999. The series is about Subaru Sumeragi a sixteen onmyoji which is someone who can use the five elements to battle supernatural forces and communicate with the dead, the series is made up of episodic chapters in which Subaru is hired to send spirits away that are causing trouble for the living.

There are three chapters in this volume the first is clearly a set up to this in which we meet the three main characters Subaru the young kind hearted humble onmyoji, his twin sister Hokuto who is much more outgoing then him, she's very into fashion and constantly tries to set him up with Seishiro and the last main character is Seishiro who is a veterinarian who claims in fell in love with Subaru at first sight, he is also the heir of the Sakurazukamori family which is a family of assassins. A subplot that is shown through out the series is the developing relationship between Subaru and Seishiro which I adore.

The second chapter deals with ghost of an aspiring actress who is haunting Tokyo Tower after she committed suicide after the movie in which she was to have her first speaking part was cancelled. After talking to Subaru and Seishiro the spirit of the woman was able to be sent to the afterlife.

The finale chapter was about Subaru remembering that he met a boy once when he was young that explained to him that the reason that cherry blossom are pink is because they are drinking the blood of the corpse that is buried underneath the tree. Also in this chapter Subaru, Hokuto and Seishiro went to the park to view the cherry blossom trees and Seishiro says the same thing about the cherry blossom tree and the corpse that the boy from Subaru's past said making Subaru suspect they might be the same person but subaru drops this theory because of how different the two personalities are.

Favorite Quotes:
"Human beings aren't strong enough to live without their dreams."

"You see the flowers on cherry trees used to be white. Pure like snow. So why do you think cherry blossoms turned that pale crimson shade? It's because they drink the blood from the corpse underneath the tree."

I overall loved this series, I love the characters, I find the plot interesting and I find that the artwork is lovely. Please tell me your thoughts about this series.
