TV Review: Scream: I Know What You Did Last Summer(2.01)

Scream: I Know What You Did Last Summer(2.01)Review
  • I liked that Noah did a recap of what happened last season and I liked that he only told us things that Noah would actually know.
  • I thought the idea of starting off the episode with an in universe slasher movie was an interesting idea because it both ups tension at beginning only to bring it down again very quickly when it's revealed that it's just a movie so that tension can be built up again later.
  • I liked that Audrey getting threatening texts is something that builds itself up through out the episode because at the beginning it feels like it could be some sort of prank but as time goes on it becomes more seriously threatening.
  • I liked that Audrey told Noah that he wasn't allowed to ask Emma to be on his podcast and talk about the murders because she knows that Emma won't want to talk about what happened right after she gets back.
  • I liked that it was explained that Emma had a breakdown shortly after the murders and that she went away to get treatment for everything that had happened.
  • I thought the prank that those two kids played on Audrey that involved making her think that someone was trying to kill her and another girl was really cruel and stupid and in all honesty that guy deserved to be stabbed since he made Audrey believe that he was going to kill her.
  • I liked that the cop told the girl who was in on Audrey's prank that they weren't going to arrest Audrey because she was clearly just trying to defend herself.
  • I liked that Noah was with Audrey and comforting her after the whole ordeal with the prank.
  • I liked that Brooke told Jake right before Emma came over that he wasn't allowed to talk about anything related to the murders and I liked that when Audrey arrived she said basically the same thing.
  • I like that show is clearly showing that Emma is still very much affected by everything that happened to her last season and that we are still seeing her struggling with the trauma of it all.
  • I like that even though Emma broke up with him Kieran still kept in touch with Emma while she was away and I actually thought that they were somewhat cute together when they were reconnecting.
  • I thought that it made total sense that Emma never listened to Noah's podcast and didn't want to be on it since she just wants to move on from everything that happened.
  • I liked that when Audrey got the call from who is most likely the new killer that she was pretty snarky and angry towards him because it shows that the dynamic between her and the new killer is going to be very different than Emma and the killer during season one. I also liked that while we could see that Audrey was scared by the calls it was different from the way that Emma showed her fear last season.
  • I liked that Noah figured out that there were actually three people that planned to prank Audrey in the comment section on his podcast and I like that Noah wants to figure out who the third person is.
  • I like that Brooke and Jake have been together for quite a while now and I understand why Brooke wants to keep their relationship secret and why Jake doesn't want to. I liked that when they fought that the last thing Jake said to her was that he loved her.
  • I think that Emma's dream about the pig farm is pretty weird and I was surprised to learn that she has been having dreams like that for years now.
  • I was sad that Emma told her mom that she kind of felt like running away from her mom because of everything that happened makes everything feel different now.
  • I liked that when Emma looked close to freaking out that Audrey held her hand and the two of them walked like that to class.
  • I disliked how the psychology teacher somewhat singled Emma out on how psychology can be useful in their daily lives while knowing that Emma has just came back to school.
  • I liked that Noah and Zoe seemed to somewhat be trying to one up one another while talking about how to apply psychology theory to their lives.
  • I liked that Noah had a speech about the importance of horror movies a psychological perspective.
  • I liked that Emma asked Zoe for help because she's one of the only people at school that doesn't stare at her.
  • I liked that the creepy new guy told Noah that he's too focused on the endings and brings up the idea that maybe things never end such as killings in Lakewood. I found that last remark to be somewhat suspicious and I think that this what made Noah start think that maybe they aren't as save as they think they are now.
  • I liked that when Audrey showed Noah the threatening texts that he made her go to the police station because he was worried that someone might be trying to seriously hurt her.
  • I liked that the police officer made Noah leave the room because he could tell that Noah wanted to file a report but Audrey didn't really and since it was really her choice he thought it was best that he got Noah out of the room.
  • I understood why Audrey yelled at Noah and told him to let go of the idea that there is an accomplice and to stop obsessing and worrying about what happened and what is happening but I also was sad that they were fighting.
  • I liked how Brooke told Emma how Jake had become her rock when Emma was away.
  • I liked how Brooke told Emma that everyone is breakable even the people that seem to have things the most together.
  • I liked that Audrey and Noah made up but I'm worried about what's going to happen if Noah finds out that the accomplice that he's looking for his Audrey.
  • I like how Emma and Kieran want to work together to help each other get better after everything that happened and that they realized that they couldn't just pick up where they left off.
  • I liked that Emma went on Noah's podcast and said that everyone that survived is a final girl(or boy) because on a meta level that means who the final girl is could actually change and that means that this season Emma may not be save in the same way that she was last season.
  • I liked that Noah kind of told Emma that his way of coping was obsessing about what happened and trying to get all the answers.
  • I liked that Emma took Brooke with her when she went to investigate the pig farm but I agree with Brooke that it would have been smarter to investigate it during the day.
  • I was a little sad that Jake died but I'm mostly just surprised that Jake made it all the way to season two considering that he was only ever a guest star in a slasher TV show so it was good for him that he lasted as long as he did.
  • I like that the new killer seems to be more theatrical with how the killer hung Jake upside down before killing him with a scythe.
  • I felt bad for Audrey when it was revealed that the new killer knows that she helped Piper plan some of the kills but I like that it seems like Audrey didn't actually commit any of the murders.
  • I'm worried about Emma since she seems to be in the same room as the new killer.
Please tell me your thoughts on this episode.
