Top 10 Books on my Fall To be Read list 2013

1. Forever: I loved the first two books of the Wolves of Mercy Falls series especially the second one so I'm really looking forward to seeing how the series ends although I'm pretty sure I'm not going to like how it ends because I have stumbled on to some spoilers that makes it sounds like the one thing that I absolutely did not want to happen to Sam does but I'm sure even if I'm right about that I'll still enjoy the characters and their relationships so that means all overall enjoy the book.
2. The Reckoning: I've loved the first two books of the series and I'm really looking forward to seeing how the series ends.
3. The Mark of Athena: I loved all the books that came before this one and I love all the characters and I'm excited to see on what adventures they go on next.
4. Manic Pixie Dreamgirl: This book sounds like it would be really interesting with how it seems to be about deconstructing the manic pixie dreamgirl trope which is a favorite of mine and it also sounds like the main character is the type I tend to like. Also the passage on the back cover totally sucked me in.
5. The Maze Runner: The movie is going to be released in February and since I'm a big fan of three of the cast members I feel I need to read the book before that and also the books sounds pretty interesting.
6. Demonglass: I loved the first Hex Hall book and I would love to be able to read the second book of the series soon.
7. Catching Fire: This book is one I feel more like I need to read then I want to read because while I liked the first book it did really make feel all that attached to the characters or care as much as I should have and in all honesty I'm more than willing to just watch the movie because like half the reason this book is on this list is because I really love Jena Malone and I'm excited to see her act again and well that's a pretty crap reason to read a book so don't except a review anytime soon.
8. Crank: I love Ellen Hopkins books and this is her most well known one which ironically is one of the few that I haven't read yet. I love Ellen Hopkins writing style and the story sounds like an interesting one.
9. If I Stay: I've heard a lot of great things about this book and I own it so I feel like I should read this one.
10. Adam and Eve: When this book first came out I thought it didn't sound that interesting but after reading the TV Tropes page on it, it actually sounds really interesting and like a type of book that I would really enjoy.

On a completely unrelated note I'm writing this post about comparing the show Teen Wolf to paranormal YA and I was wondering if any of you guys would be interested in reading it since it's going to be fairly long post I'm not sure I want to put the effort into if no one wants to read it.

    1. Thanks for commenting, Glad to hear The Maze Runner is good since I'm planning on reading that pretty soon. I'll give If I Stay a chance because everyone seems to love it but I'm still a bit worried about how much I'll enjoy.

    1. Thanks for commenting, it seems like most people love Catching Fire which I'm I'll like it's just I'm pretty sure I'd rather read a lot of other books instead which is pretty much how I feel about The Hunger Games.

  4. I really enjoyed Crank, but then I enjoy all of Hopkins' books. I liked Catching Fire well enough, but not as much as The Hunger Games. Then again, I know people who liked CF more than THG, so you never know, you might too! I should probably get to The Maze Runner as well, since the movie is coming. Hopefully you enjoy these! :) And I think a post comparing Teen Wolf to paranormal YA is a great idea! I don't watch the show, but I'd be interested to see how it stacks up.

    1. Thanks for the comment. So far I've read 5 Ellen Hopkins books and I've loved them all so I'm pretty sure that I'll end up loving Crank as well so I take it as a good sign that you loved all her books. I hope that I like Catching Fire more because at this point I don't really have any strong feelings about the series. I think that we have quite a bit to read it since it doesn't come out until February.

I'm so happy to hear that you'd be interested in reading about Teen Wolf and paranormal YA since I've had this idea for awhile but wasn't quite sure if anyone would be interested in reading it. It means a lot to me that even though you aren't a fan of the show your interested in this post especially since in a lot of ways it's a recommendation post and this post in a lot of ways is based off of the things that it seems to be lacking in paranormal YA but I notice that Teen Wolf does pretty well.

  6. I have to get to Linger first before Forever :).

I think a post comparing the show Teen Wolf to paranormal YA would be interesting. I have watch a few episodes but not really following. Are you looking at the depiction of werewolves in particular?

    1. Thanks for the comment. I loved Linger so much in fact I made a list awhile back about my top 10 favorite book moments and half of them were from Linger.

Glad to hear you're interested in Teen Wolf paranormal YA post and I think it would be interesting to hear your opinion about it since you know things about the show but aren't really a fan of it. The depiction of werewolves and the mythology of the series in general is going to be something that will be one of the focuses of the post since it's something I think the show does fairly well but it won't be the only one. I feel like this series also does a really good job of having teenagers act like teenagers which is something that is lacking in a lot of series that focuses on teenagers and there's things such as the focus on friendships and parents actually being a part of their kids life that I think makes the show better than the average YA novel.

  12. Riordan's Lost Heroes series is on my TBR list, but I think I'm going to wait until the whole series is finished. I'm not big on cliffhangers!

    1. Thanks for the comment. I think it's probably a good idea to wait for the series to be complete before you read it especially since I heard The Mark of Athena ends with a particularly painful cliffhanger.
