Top 8 Books I Almost Put Down But Didn't

1. The Summoning: The first part of the book was a little slow and I remember that when I was reading about Chloe putting red streaks in her hair between classes after she got her first period and her being weirdly happy about it I thought to myself  'why am I reading this book' by the end of the chapter she sees her first ghost so that got me interested again and I'm overall extremely happy that I did because The Darkest Powers series is now one of my favorite book series.
2. Heart of Darkness: I hate this book it was written way too densely for my tastes and over half of the book was descriptions of landscapes seriously this book is about the dark creepy forbidden forest since the author decided to neglect both plot and characters to focus more on setting. I also hated how only three characters were named through out the whole book which just made it needlessly confusing and I hate the format of the book at least the edition that I read it had around every single paragraph in the whole book so I never new when someone was talking or if the narrator was just describing things and there was no space between paragraphs and sometimes the paragraphs would go on for three or four pages and the font was like size ten. I hate this book and the only reason I finished is because I read it for class.
3. Taming of the Shrew: This play I hated because all of the characters were very unlikable and the story is extremely out dated with how it treated Katherine and Petruchio they were both unlikable characters but it felt better gross that Petruchio abusing Katherine into submission was considered a happy ending, also the play wasn't funny if you want a good and funny version of this story watch the movie 10 Things I Hate About You. I also only finished this because I read it for a class.
4. Evermore: I really wanted to like this book but the main character Ever never really seemed to do anything but try to block out her powers and date this guy that was really creepy so I thought about quitting this book a bunch of times but I ended up sticking to it until the end.
5. Wings: I didn't hate this book or anything I just wished that it was more exciting than it was in the end I felt the book was okay overall but I also thought it was pretty boring.
6. Anna and the French Kiss: I know this is an unpopular opinion but I hate St. Clair both because he doesn't feel like a real person do to being French-American with a British accent seems like he was just designed to make girls swoon which I might've been able to forgive if he had actual been able to make me swoon. I hate St. Clair because through out the majority of the book he has a girlfriend named Ellie who has done nothing wrong accept embraced college life but St.Clair spends most of the book ignoring Ellie in order to flirt with Anna and he even admits that he has known that he had strong feelings for Anna since thanksgiving but doesn't break up with Ellie until after his friends catch him with his tongue halfway done Anna's throat and even then the only reason he breaks things off with Ellie is because he's afraid his friends would tell her. Through the whole book St. Clair treats Ellie like crap which shows that he's a bad boyfriend and doesn't respect Ellie at all since he moved on before he even let her know that the relationship was over. I also really hated how Anna fantasied about smashing Ellie's head against a brick wall because Ellie dared to kiss her boyfriend, seriously Anna is stealing Ellie's boyfriend and I'm suppose to root for a girl that not only feels no shame about this but feels she has the right to wish violence on someone she doesn't even no and has done nothing wrong. I finished this book but I didn't like it and while I feel bad about that I can't force myself to like a guy like St. Clair.
7. The Lovely Bones: This book was pretty disturbing at parts, sad through out the story and there wasn't a real strong plot so I thought of quitting it at times. Overall I didn't dislike the book it's just I didn't like either.
8. 1984: This book just felt a bit dense at time and I wasn't really invested in the characters but the world and plot were pretty interesting and I actually really do love the book even if it was a bit hard to get into.

Top 9 Worlds I Never Want to Live in

1. Sunnydale(Buffy the Vampire Slayer): Well it's implied that there is an extremely high death rate in this town and just about every monster that you can think makes it way to town since the town is on top of a Hellmouth which sounds just very unpleasant. There also seems to be an Apocalypse once a month to avert which is always a negative. There's also the whole thing where the people in the town seem to ignore the bizarre supernatural without trying to which always freaked me out a bit although not as much the murder and apocalypses.
2. Mystic Falls(Vampire Diaries): Mystic Falls appears to be a pretty small town that looks quite picturesque until you realize that there's about 50 on screen deaths per-season and each season only covers half a school year which means that in a town with an already small population there's about 100 murders a year and that just doesn't make me feel safe. Another thing that creeps me out about this town is that it seems that these mass murders that they have has been going on periodically for centuries but it's still something that the townsfolk choose to ignore even though it's clear that there aware of the problem. There's also the fact that this town is just plain weird with them having town wide celebrations at least once a week despite the fact that someone almost always ends up dead at one of these events and it seems like everyone in this town owns a ball gown or tuxedo so that they can all be dressed up for a last minute ball and I'm pretty sure the celebrated Christmas during the spring last season for no reason which freaks me out almost as much as the fact you kill people in the middle of the day in this town and no one would look twice.
3. Westeros(A Song of Ice and Fire): This kingdom is one that is in a huge war at the moment and it seems to be killing a ton of people whether their from noble families or common folks I think it's safe to say that no one is safe in Westeros and I rather not live somewhere in which I constantly fear for my life. I think Westeros is a great setting for this story but I see no reason to ever visit this land.
4. Panem(The Hunger Games): They force young children to fight each other to the death I want no part of a world that does this and it sounds like life in the districts are pretty awful to begin with so adding children getting murder annually just makes an already unappealing world look worse.
5. Acid Tokyo(Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicle): This world appears to be post-apocalyptic and it rains acid not to mention that everyone leaves this place much worse off than they were when they came there it seems like a miserable place that I never wish to go to.
6. The World of 1984: The government spies on it's people constantly and there world tries to control your thoughts which is the one thing that someone should always have control of. Any place that messes with your head is a pace that I never want to be.
7. Luna(Cinder): This is another world in which your thoughts are messed with and it's also said that Lunars are pretty cruel as well which while I'm intrigued by this world I know already that I don't want to live there.
8. Beacon Hills(Teen Wolf): This town isn't actually as bad as a lot of fans make it out to be there's multiple murders each season but unlike Mystic Falls the murders are actually solved which does make the town a bit safer and it also seems like Beacon Hills is a city not a small town which would make the murder rate a bit higher than a small town which most people seem to talk about it as if it is one despite the fact there's very little to back up this claim.. I still wouldn't want to live there since there's still quite a few murders and a whole bunch of supernatural creatures seem to be drawn there so I still wouldn't want to live there but I think it's much safer than Sunnydale or Mystic Falls but that's not saying much.
9. Wonderland(Alice in Wonderland): Everyone here appears to be crazy and most of them also seem to like bullying a little girl simply because she doesn't know everything about how their strange world works so I'd rather not live there or visit there.

Top 10 Books that made me think about the world in someway

1.Tokyo Babylon:This series made me think about many of the social issues that were presented though out the series but to me the most powerful message of the series was how no matter what your going through no one but you can truly understand how much pain you're in. I really love that theme because I feel too often in fiction or rather in the discussion of fiction that the characters pain is ranked which doesn't seem fair to me since everyone handles pain differently so I thought it was nice that this series didn't pass judgement on how much pain a character was in. I also loved that this series ended sadly because it made think about why things couldn't work out and why I ever thought they would work out. I also love the closing line of the series "Maybe all the people who do bad things are just really lonely."
2.Uglies series:This book made me think about how our society values physical beauty and how the society defines what beauty is.
3.Perfect: This book made me think about how one would define perfection and the lengths at which a person can go to try and achieve perfection. This also made me think about why a person would want to achieve perfection. I also thought about when a person should stop trying to achieve perfection and the consequences of refusing to stop trying to reach the impossible goal of perfection.
4.Identical: This book taught me that everyone has a reason for what they are doing. I love that in this book even though Kaeleigh and Reanne's parents were pretty much horrible parents in different ways there was still a kind of understanding and sympathy that I could feel for them.Even though I knew they were awful I felt like they were still human albeit extremely flawed humans.
5.The Book Thief:This book made me see the German people were really no different from anyone else and that they weren't malicious despite who their leader was. I liked that this book showed the regular German citizens as regular people stuck in a bad situation because of the war and the air bombings that came along with it.
6.Thirteen Reasons Why:This made me think about how small acts that aren't actually that bad or weren't even meant to hurt anyone can still lead up to someone's decision to commit suicide. Which is kind of scary thought that a joke or just not saying the right thing can put someone's blood on your hands.
7.Xxxholic:This is a series that is full of interesting philosophies and also examines human nature through a supernatural lens which just makes it all the more interesting.
8.Brave New World: This book made me think about how much emphasise is placed on people feeling good and having fun rather than knowledge or the bonds of love of any kind.
9.Tricks: This book made me think about how easy it is to get involved in a kind of situation that can be extremely harmful to you when you feel your out of options.
10. 1984:This book made me think about how scary it would be to have a government that would be able to not just control how you lived and what you say but also what you think and how you feel about your life.

Top 10 Books that would be good for a Book Club

I never actually been in a book club so I'm not exactly sure how they work.

1.White Oleander: I love this book I think it's a good coming of age novel due to all the messed up aspects of Astrid's up bringing and I've always wanted to talk to someone about this brilliant book but I don't know anyone who read it. I think it would be a good book club book because in the back of the copy I read there were question to ask at book clubs.
2. Reading in the Dark: I've already mention how much I loved this book several times on this list but I also think it would be a good book for a book club because one could discuss how secrets can destroy someones lives or hold it together depending on who knows them. Then it could also be discussed who knows what and for how long have they know this secret. Then of course it could be discussed if it's better for everyone if no one every learns the truth.
3.The Book Thief: I'm sure this is or was a popular book club book and I feel there's a lot to discuss and I love this book.
4. Uglies Series: This is one of my favorite book series and I feel that there could be many discussion about how much our society values physical beauty and if the events of this series seems possible.
5. Impulse/Perfect: I love both of this book and since Perfect is a companion novel to Impulse I think it makes sense that they should be talked about together. Both of this books deal with the different pressures that teens feel their under and the either the need to live up to impossible standards or how someone feels when they feel there's nothing left in life that makes getting up in the morning seem worth it. I also love the way it's written with multiple narrators and in verse.
6.Fruits Basket: This series is my favorite and has some of the best developed characters so I would love to psychoanalyse each and everyone of them.
7.1984: I loved this book and I feel that there is a lot to be discussed with all the censorship, brainwashing and psychological torture Big Brother practices in order to stay in control.
8. Perks of Being a Wallflower: I love this book and I feel that there is a lot of topics that can be discussed with this book and I feel that the world would be a better place if more people thought the way that Charlie does.
9. Identical: This book has extremely well developed characters and deals with a number of interesting topics which would all lead to interesting discussions.
10. Percy Jackson and the Olympians series: I love this series and I'm sure that I could find a lot to talk about with people who have actually read the books.

Book Review:1984

                                                                 1984 Review
The book 1984 is about a dystopian society were everyone is equal but this means that most of the citizens are poor. In this society the leader known as Big Brother makes sure that the citizens not even have a thought of disloyalty and if a person does they are erased. The main character of the book Winston is sure that the history has been altered but there’s no proof of this and through out the book Winston begins to dislike Big Brother more and more which leads him to try to join a rebellion known as the Brotherhood.

In the end Winston is taken by the thought police and he is tortured and re-educated to love Big Brother and forget the errors in logic that concern the past. I overall enjoyed this book, especially the last part that involved the torture and the thought police. I also thought it was really different that the book ended up with Big Brother winning. Please tell me your thoughts on the book.
