Top 10 Kdramas I Watched in 2017

1. W: Two Worlds: This series is one that dealt with a very creative idea with having one of our leads be a comic book character that discovers that is a fictional character and this leads to quite a few philosophical questions about what it really means to be human and it also I allowed for the plot at least whenever it was in the comic book world to be dictated by story logic rather than real world logic which was a lot of fun. The story also had a very sweet romance at the center of it and it was also a thriller that ended up having a villain that was almost completely unstoppable since he lacked an identity. This show had lots of twists and turns through out and also had characters that I loved rooting for which makes this series one that is very hard to top.
2. While You Were Sleeping: This series is one that deals with the idea of if you can see the future would you actually be able to change the future for the better and if you can't than how will you deal with that. This drama is one that I really ended up loving because of it's characters they were just so well written that I felt like they felt like real people and I really ended up adoring the lead couple because of how well they suited each other and worked together.
3. Because This is My First Life: This series was a really fun one that dealt with our leads finding themselves accidently living together and eventually deciding that getting fake married was the most logical solution to their current problems. I really loved the characters in this drama they were well fleshed out and a bit quirky and I loved seeing them and their relationship develop through out the series.
4. Dream High: This series is a heartwarming story about high schoolers pursuing their dreams to make it in the Kpop industry. This series is one that had a lot of heart to it and really loved that we focused on a group of characters rather than just one or two and I ended up loving them all and enjoying their growth as individuals as well as their relationship development. I also really loved the soundtrack for this series.
5. School 2013: This is a series that dealt with the daily struggles of high school students and teachers and I really loved how this series did such a good job of making you invested in all the characters and making you understand things differently depending on which characters point of view you were viewing the situation from. I really loved how this series was able to make everyday problems feel so high stacks because of how much they matter to the characters.
6. White Christmas: This series is a great psychological thriller and character study that asked interesting questions about humanity. I really loved the mood and atmosphere that series had and I really loved how the series constantly used the threat of violence rather than actually violence to raise the stacks in any given situation.
7. Suspicious Partner: This series was one that was a lot of fun it was romantic comedy that also had a murder mystery and legal drama aspects to it which worked pretty well together in this series. This series had good characters I really enjoyed watching and I found myself invested in it's story for the majority of the series.
8. Cheese in the Trap: This series that dealt with the college life of a girl just finishing up college was one that I found myself relating to and investing in a lot because of how well written the characters were and like School 2013 I felt that this series also did a good job of making the everyday stuff feel high stacks.
9. Witch's Romance: This is a delightful romantic comedy that had great leading characters that worked so very well together and it is honestly one of the series that I find the most fun and romantic to watch.
10. Marriage Not Dating: This series is a hilarious romantic comedy that involves fake dating and surprising amount of character depth and growth as well as being series that can be quite heartwarming at times as well.

TV Review: While You Were Sleeping

                                             While You Were Sleeping Review
While You Were Sleeping is about a young woman named Nam Hong Joo who has been having dreams about things that will happen in the future since she was a child, sometimes the dreams are of good things that will happen but most of the time there about bad things that will happen. Hong joo has never been able to change the future that she has seen in her dreams no matter how much she has tried so by the start of the series she has given up on using her dreams to change the future until she sees that her mother will die after she has been in some sort of accident which leads Hong joo try to find a way to prevent the accident in order to save her mother but really all it does is make her worry. Around the same time that Hong joo has the dream about her mother Jung Jae chan, a rookie prosecutor ends up moving in next door to Hong joo and shortly after he moves in he ends up having a dream about Hong joo's future which ends in her trying to kill herself because in that future she is being framed for a crime and her mother had died. At first Jae chan doesn't think the dream means anything until he notices that things are happening the same way they did in the dream and this leads him to doing what he can to change what happens and he is able to succeed in changing the future but he ends up looking foolish to everyone but Hong joo who is grateful that he saved her and mother from a bad future and that someone has similar abilities to her.

After the first episodes most of the other episodes in the series deal with Hong joo and Jae chan trying to find a way to prevent bad futures from happening and most of the futures tend to involve whatever the current case that Jae chan is working on. At first Jae chan is reluctant to actually believe in the dreams or do anything that could cause him to loose his job because he's afraid that he won't be able to make things any better but Hong joo is able to convince him that he should at least try to make things better and that she won't be disappointed in him if he fails. Han Woo tak a police officer who was saved by Jae chan preventing the accident in the first episode also develops the ability to se the future in his dreams and he ends up befriending and helping Hong joo and Jae chan with preventing bad futures from happening and he is the one who is the most interested in trying to figure out why and how they have the abilities they do.

This show is one that I found myself enjoying mostly for the characters and the relationships that they have between them rather than because of the series plot. Hong joo was someone who comes across as pretty odd and she is completely okay with that I loved how she completely embraced all her weirdness. Although Hong joo could be pretty quirky I like that she is someone who is still clearly very smart and we see that she is very good at her job as a reporter once she goes back to it, I also like that she is someone who has a very firm sense of right and wrong. Jae chan is someone who likes to look a lot more well put together than he actually is and he is a lot more fearful of looking foolish and gets embarrassed a lot more easily than Hong joo does since he's about just as quirky as she is but he's more ashamed of it. I like that Jae chan is someone who has to work really hard to be successful at things and that he is often filled with self doubt when it comes whether or not he'll be able to win the cases he's working on but I like that at same time he can't not do what he believes is the right thing to do even it's something that makes his life harder. The character of Woo tak is different from Hong joo and Jae chan in that he seems be a lot cooler and more normal than the two of them but he like the two of them is unwilling to not do the right thing just because it's easy.

The relationship between Hong joo and Jae chan is one that is built on the friendship that the end up developing at the beginning of the series and is one that is built off the small gestures of affections that they show each other through out the series. The things that make their bound what it is are the smaller moments such as Hong joo telling Jae chan that she wouldn't be disappointed in him if he failed as long as he tried or Jae chan holding Hong Joo's hand and promising to hold her hand when she returned to work while knowing that doing her job could lead to her death in the future. Through out the series Hong joo and Jae chan are there for each other offering emotional support to one another whenever they need it and they are able to communicate openly through which is something that made me love them so much as a couple.

Overall I really loved this drama there are so many characters and relationships that I didn't mention in my review that I loved as well and they really made the series all the more wonderful or interesting for existing. This show was one that was made by it's characters and I was more than happy to watch them grow over the course of the series. This show was one that I thought had a great look to it and I thought that the music was great as well. Please tell me your thoughts on this drama.

Top 5 New Fall TV Series I Want to Watch

1. While You Were Sleeping: This series is the series that I have been look forward to the most all year it's written by my favorite Kdrama writer and stars my favorite Kdrama actor which automatically made me excited for the series. This series is about a girl who can see the future in her dreams and how she works together with a guy who has just became a prosecutor to stop the bad things she sees in her dreams from happening. This is the one series on this list that I've already started watching and even though it's only been three episodes the premise has already been turned on it's head which is great and I'm really enjoying the characters and the show as a whole so far.
2. The Gifted: This is a show that is set in the X-men universe and since I've always liked the X-men that makes me interested in this series but I also like that at least two of the main characters are teenagers because I always like stories about teenagers discovering who they are and if you add super powers to the mix everything just becomes even more interesting.
3. Runaways: This series is one about teenagers discovering that their parents are super villains and then they runaway to escape them and they have powers of their own, while I haven't heard a lot about the TV show version of this series I do think that the premise sounds good and honestly what's not to love about that premise.
4. Dynasty: This show is written by the same writer as The OC and Chuck and since those two series are some of my favorite TV series of all time I thought that it would be a good idea to check out this series but I also worry the most about whether or not this series will end up being a good one.
5. Ghosted: This series is a supernatural sitcom and I thought that the trailer made the show look funny so I thought that I'd give this series a try chances are I won't end up following this series super closely since I tend to just randomly stop watching sitcoms for no real reason but who knows maybe this one will be different.
