P.S. I Still Love You is the second book in The To All the Boys I've Loved series and in this book Lara Jean and Peter get back together fairly quickly and they have to get use to what it's like for them to be a real couple now. The first part of the book also deals with Lara Jean dealing with people treating her differently after seeing the video of her and Peter making out in a hot tub. Lara Jean knows that Peter's ex Genevieve is the person who posted the video but Peter thinks that she wouldn't have done that which causes a wedge in their relationship as does Peter continuing to be friends with her after the break up although Lara Jean doesn't tell Peter that she feels this way.

Lara Jean finds out that another boy that she wrote a letter to has recently received it and he writes her a letter back, the boy is named John Ambrose and through out the book he is presented as a better love interest for Lara Jean than Peter is. John Ambrose is the only boy that we learned had a crush on Lara Jean at the same time that she was crushing on him which makes them not going out in eighth grade seem like a missed chance and him being someone that makes Lara Jean happy and relaxed makes him seem like a great match for Lara Jean through out the book. Lara Jean also volunteers at an old folks home through out the book and she develops a friendship with one lady that turns out to be John Ambrose's grandmother which leads to the two of them being set up by her.

Overall I felt a bit frustrated with this book because I knew that Lara Jean and Peter are going to end up together in the end so I don't see the point of this book basically listing all the ways that Peter is wrong for Lara Jean while also listing all the ways that John Ambrose is right for Lara Jean and way better than Peter only for Lara Jean to end up back with Peter in the end anyway. I don't like how this book wanted me to root against it's main ship for the entire book just because its the middle book of a romance series and we need to separate the main couple. I really hope that the movie ends up being better than the book was because this book was no where near as fun to read as the first book was. Top 10 Books I Read in 2018

1.Renegades: Renegades is a book that actually does something that feels new involving superheroes which is something that I really enjoyed. I liked seeing a society that is now ruled by superheroes because they are the ones that brought society out of an age of anarchy and I like that this society is shown to be a flawed one. I liked that Nova our heroine is actually a-lined with the villain side of things which isn't something that female leads often get to do and I liked that Adrian our male lead is with the heroes but still see flaws in their current system. I really loved the world that was created in this series and the characters and the relationships that they developed with each other.
2. Holding Up the Universe: This book is a really good character driven story that follows Libby an overweight teen who is going back to school for the first time in years and is doing her best to not let other people's opinions about her get her down; and Jack a well liked student who is secretly dealing with face blindness which is making his life much more complicated that it has to be and making him feel like he has to do things that he's uncomfortable with in order to appear normal. I really loved Libby and Jack as individual characters and I also loved the relationship that they developed with each other which made this book a great read.
3. This is What Happy Looks Like: This book is about teens Ellie and Graham who start emailing each other accidently and discover that they have a bond with each other despite having very different lives with Ellie being a normal high school student in small town Maine and Graham being an up and coming Hollywood actor. I really loved this book I really loved both of the main characters and I found myself rooting for them to end up together.
4. The Fill-in Boyfriend:  This book was I really sweet and fun romance that involved fake dating with leads that were likable yet flawed which made the book all the more interesting. I also thought that the book a few surprising things with the friendship conflicts in the book which is something that I really enjoyed.
5. Turtles All the Way Down: This book was the first book in 2018 that I read that I actually loved which makes me love this book a little more than I would have otherwise. This book has an interesting main character who is very stuck in her own head because of her fears of germs which affects her life in many ways in that it causes conflict in her friendship and makes her feel that she can't be in a relationship. There was also some interesting going on with her old friend and then briefly boyfriend and his family that added something to the story as well.
6. Vampire Academy: This book was a good introduction to a new type of vampire mythology and had an interesting cast of characters which made this book great fun to read. I really Rose and her relationship with Lissa and I loved that even though it's Rose's job to protect Lissa that the love and protectiveness that they feel for each other is mutual. I also really loved the romance that developed between Lissa and Christian. I thought that this book had a good plot to it despite this book not being too focused on plot.
7. Glass: This book was a good sequel to Crank and it was beautifully written despite being about the very ugly continuing descent that Kristina experiences into meth addiction, it isn't a fun read but I feel like it is a worthwhile read.
8. To All the Boys I've Loved Before: This book was another romance book that involved fake dating that I really enjoyed but I feel like it was a bit less fluff than The Fill-in Boyfriend probably because this book is book one of a series so it's a lot less clear whether or not Lara Jean and Peter will actually end up together. There is an emphasis on Lara Jean's relationships with her sisters that I really enjoyed and I think it added a lot to the book. For as much as I liked the book I must say that I actually love the movie more because it was clear from the start that movie Peter was into Lara Jean and I liked that Josh didn't end up having romantic feelings for Lara Jean in the movie these things just really improved the story for me.
9. The Statistical Probability of Love at First Sight: This book isn't actually as romance centric as one would think it would be based off the title but it is still a good story about a girl coming to terms with her father get married to the woman that he cheated on her mother with and her figuring out if she still wants her father in her life or if he even really wants her to be part of his new life. There is also a sweet romance that starts to develop between our main character and boy she sits by on the plane to her father's wedding which is a relationship that I quite enjoyed even though not a lot of focus was on romance in this story.
10. Frostbite: The second book in the Vampire Academy series has a less focused plot than the first book and less focus on Rose's relationship with Lissa which makes me a bit sad. This book did introduced new aspects to the world and it's characters and to some new characters as well which made the book all the more interesting. I liked this book a whole lot but I found it wasn't as good as the first book in the series.

Movie Review: To All the Boys I've Before

To All the Boys I've Loved Before is about a high school junior named Lara Jean(Lana Condor) who's older sister recently left for college which leaves her feeling a bit lost because of how close the two of them were. Shortly after the school year begins Lara Jean discovers that her love letters that she writes for all of her crushes but never intended to be sent have been sent after Peter(Noah Centineo) a popular boy was her first kiss during a game of spin the bottle in seventh grade tries to letter her down easy after receiving her letter. Lara Jean is very freaked out by the news that her love letters have all been sent out and when she sees Josh(Israel Broussard)her sister's ex-boyfriend who she still has feelings for walking over with another one of her letters she kisses Peter to convince Josh that she isn't into anymore and then runs away from both of them which leaves both boys confused and Peter seems to have already fallen for her a bit after that kiss.

Lara Jean plans to just avoid all the boys that got her letters but she ends up being confronted by Peter about the letter again and after she explains that she kissed him so Josh won't know she still has feelings for him and this leads Peter to suggesting that the two of them fake date each other he claims that he wants to make his ex girlfriend Gen jealous and that it would help Lara Jean with her situation with Josh. Lara Jean agrees to fake date Peter and then the two of them come up with a contract where Lara Jean says that their will be no more kissing which disappoints Peter, they agree to watch Sixteen Candles and Fight Club together, Peter suggests that he writes Lara Jean love notes every day and says she has to go with him on the school ski trip which is three months in the future. Over the course of the story Lara Jean and Peter become closer and the two of them begin to share things with each other that they haven't with other people and began to fall for each other for real which makes things complicated in the best way possible.

Overall I loved this movie even more than I liked the book which was very good to began with, I found it nice that the movie didn't real make the story a love triangle between Lara Jean, Josh and Peter but rather just a love story between Lara Jean and Peter and an awkward friendship situation between Lara Jean and Josh. I liked that Peter much more clearly and quickly fell for Lara Jean in the movie than he did in the book and I liked how in the movie it seemed like Lara Jean's fear of falling in love was rooted in fearing loosing someone if they aren't just a fantasy. I thought that the movie had good acting and that the leads had good chemistry with each other as well and the movie was very pretty to look at as well. To All the Boys I've Loved is about a high school junior named Lara Jean who's older sister, Margot  is moving away to go to college in Scotland and since the two of them are incredibly close Lara Jean feels lost without her because of much she relied on her both at home and at school. While already having a rocky start to the school year Lara Jean's life becomes more complicated when she realizes that the love letters she wrote to her crushes in order to put an end to her feelings for them have been sent out which puts her in a very awkward situation especially with Josh her sister's recent ex-boyfriend and neighbor of Lara Jean who she still has feelings for. Lara Jean ends up telling Josh that she's dating Peter, a popular jock that also received one of her letters, in order to convince Josh that she doesn't have feelings for him anymore. Peter ends up going along with Lara Jean's fake dating idea and suggesting to take it further because he wants to make it clear to his ex girlfriend Gen that the two of them are done for good this time and he thinks him and Lara Jean dating will prove this.

Lara Jean and Peter set up some ground rules for their fake dating arrangement and then the two of them began to fake date and start to get to know each other better. Through fake dating Lara Jean finds herself opening up to new experiences and begins to experience a different side of high school and finds that she quite likes it. As time goes on Lara Jean begins to fall out of love with Josh and in love with Peter but she's not sure that Peter feels the same way especially when it's clear that Peter can't stop caring about Gen even though he knows that relationship is bad for him.

Overall I thought this was a good book it had an interesting plot with good characters and relationships that made the book a great read all the way through. This book had a great bond between sisters in it and was an interesting take on the whole fake dating trope which is something that I always love to see.
