1. Higurashi No Naku Koro Ni: This series is kind of strange with how this series has different arcs in which different people go insane and kill all of their closest friends each time. The series is very good and very creepy which makes it a good series for around Halloween time.
2.Harry Potter series: This series is one that always love to read during Halloween time because of all the magic throughout the series.
3 Hex Hall: I've recently started reading this book and so far it's really good. This book gets me in mood for Halloween because it has witches/warlocks, faeries, shapeshifters and a vampire all going to school together.
4.Secret Circle series: I love this series and since it's about witches it's a good series to read around Halloween and I think they might actually go to a Halloween dance in the one of the books.
5.Rosario+ Vampire: It's a funny series about a boarding school for monsters I love the series and I feel it's good to read around Halloween.
6.Chibi Vampire: A series about vampires which I love and believe is a good series to read around Halloween.
7. The Darkest Powers series: One of my favorite series about people with some form of supernatural powers and I feel it's good to read around Halloween.
8. Xxxholic: This is a great series that often times of creepy little stories in them involving spirits so I think it's great to read around Halloween.
9. Anna Dressed in Blood: A creepy ghost story that I'm not huge fan of but I think it be good to read during Halloween.

Manga Review: Xxxholic Vol.3
Xxxholic Vol.3Review
In this volume Watanuki and Domeki are sent by Yuko to investigate the school that a friend of Himawari's goes to which has had the game known as angel-san or prophesy-san has become popular at. Since the students playing angel-san are amaturs they can't control the spirits so the spirits are causing trouble. The spirit is very strong at the school and this causes Watanuki to see the spirit at one point as a group of school girls who are terrified to let go of the pen their playing angel-san with, Watanuki tries to save them only to discover they're not actually real.Watanuki is pushed off the building by the spirits but Domeki ends up saving him although the spirits do injury his arm in the process. In the end the bad spirits at the school are eaten by a spirit snake that was attracted to the school by Watanuki's blood.
The next story in the volume was about a teacher in training who bought a monkey's paw from Yuko even after Yuko tells her that it wouldn't be wise for her to buy it and the teacher is allowed to have it if she promises not to open the tube that's holding the monkey's paw but she of course breaks this promise. The teacher makes wishes on the monkey's paw throughout the story that end up having more and severe consequences but she doesn't realize the possible consequences because she refuses to believe anything bad can happen to her. The concept of equivalent exchange is brought but again with the monkey's paw because each time a wish is granted it has to take the material to grant the wish from somewhere else such as the water for the pool to make it rain, the mirror from the shop and the other teaching students work. The teacher's story ends with her realizing that the monkey's paw is becoming dangerous but also not accepting any blame for her own action, her final wish is to wish all her problems way and the monkey's paw grants that wish by killing her.
The finale story has Watanuki meet and buy food from some fox spirits who were very kind and good cooks. Watanuki was given food to give to Yuko after allowing the young fox spirit to have a part of an arrow which Domeki had stuck in Watanuki's bag earlier. This chapter was very short but it was a nice bit of mythology and a sweet story.
I liked that after Domeki hurt his arm while rescuing Watanuki that Watanuki started making lunch for him and that even though Watanuki claimed he didn't take requests he'd always give Domeki what he requested the next day. I also liked how Domeki said that he believes that the spirits are real even though he can't see them because he has heard Watanuki talk about them often. I really enjoyed that their relationship seemed to get developed a bit further this volume.
I overall really enjoyed this volume with the first story being my favorite but all of the stories were good. I also really enjoyed the artwork throughout the volume. Please tell me your thoughts on the volume.

Top 10 Books that made me think about the world in someway
1.Tokyo Babylon:This series made me think about many of the social issues that were presented though out the series but to me the most powerful message of the series was how no matter what your going through no one but you can truly understand how much pain you're in. I really love that theme because I feel too often in fiction or rather in the discussion of fiction that the characters pain is ranked which doesn't seem fair to me since everyone handles pain differently so I thought it was nice that this series didn't pass judgement on how much pain a character was in. I also loved that this series ended sadly because it made think about why things couldn't work out and why I ever thought they would work out. I also love the closing line of the series "Maybe all the people who do bad things are just really lonely."
2.Uglies series:This book made me think about how our society values physical beauty and how the society defines what beauty is.
3.Perfect: This book made me think about how one would define perfection and the lengths at which a person can go to try and achieve perfection. This also made me think about why a person would want to achieve perfection. I also thought about when a person should stop trying to achieve perfection and the consequences of refusing to stop trying to reach the impossible goal of perfection.
4.Identical: This book taught me that everyone has a reason for what they are doing. I love that in this book even though Kaeleigh and Reanne's parents were pretty much horrible parents in different ways there was still a kind of understanding and sympathy that I could feel for them.Even though I knew they were awful I felt like they were still human albeit extremely flawed humans.
5.The Book Thief:This book made me see the German people were really no different from anyone else and that they weren't malicious despite who their leader was. I liked that this book showed the regular German citizens as regular people stuck in a bad situation because of the war and the air bombings that came along with it.
6.Thirteen Reasons Why:This made me think about how small acts that aren't actually that bad or weren't even meant to hurt anyone can still lead up to someone's decision to commit suicide. Which is kind of scary thought that a joke or just not saying the right thing can put someone's blood on your hands.
7.Xxxholic:This is a series that is full of interesting philosophies and also examines human nature through a supernatural lens which just makes it all the more interesting.
8.Brave New World: This book made me think about how much emphasise is placed on people feeling good and having fun rather than knowledge or the bonds of love of any kind.
9.Tricks: This book made me think about how easy it is to get involved in a kind of situation that can be extremely harmful to you when you feel your out of options.
10. 1984:This book made me think about how scary it would be to have a government that would be able to not just control how you lived and what you say but also what you think and how you feel about your life.

Top 10 Books I reviewed and Top 10 Manga I reviewed
Books
1. Game of Thrones: This is one of the best written books I have ever read and it's also one of the most interesting as well. I love this book for it's intriguing plot, great characters, timeless themes and fantastic world building. I also love that it's written in the viewpoints of many different characters.
2. The Lost Hero: Is the first book in the Heroes of Olympus series and it's a great start to the series with a good plot, some great characters and the writing is just as good as Rick Riordan's other series. I also like that builds on the mythology of the Percy Jackson and the Olympians series and that it's told from three different viewpoints.
3. Perfect:This is my second favorite Ellen Hopkins book which is a companion novel to Impulse my favorite Ellen Hopkins novel. This story is one about four teenagers trying to meet up the expectations of being perfect and they all have different ideas of what perfection is and whether or not it's really worth striving for. This novel is written in verse like all the Ellen Hopkins novels I read so far and that makes the book both beautiful and more in depth than it probably would have been if it was written in prose.
4.Tricks: Another Ellen Hopkins novel and it's written just as beautifully as Perfect but it's subject manner is far from pretty. This book is about five different teenagers get themselves caught up in the business of selling their bodies in one form or another. The characters are vastly different and their actions and reasons for their actions also vary a great deal. The only real problem I have with this book is that it ended on a bit of a cliffhanger but there's never going to be a sequel and the stories of each character didn't really interconnect.
5. Shiver: Shiver is a beautiful love story about a sensible girl named Grace and Sam a sweet boy who turns into a wolf every winter. I love this story because I love the relationship between Sam and Grace as well as the characters themselves. I also like the interesting mythology of the series and I like that even though most people call it a werewolf series it's kind of not because the wolves are just regular wolves not really what people consider werewolves.
6. Heist Society: A fun series about con-artist with a brilliant kickass heroine, a completely swoon worthy romantic lead and a nice crew to help her pull off the job. I love pretty much everything about this book and I don't see that changing any time soon.
7. The Awakening: The second book in The Darkest Powers series doesn't suffer from bad pacing like the first book with having almost non-stop action for about half of the book while the other half develops characters, relationships, plotlines and powers.
8. Cross My Heart and Hope to Spy: The second book in the Gallagher series is my favorite book in the series so far(I've only read the first 3) and I have to admit that has a lot to do with the character Zach being introduce. I also love that most of the things I love about the first novel is still in place and I especially love the whole espionage ball they had.
9. Thirteen Reasons Why: This is a heartbreaking book about a girl who took her own life and record a set of tapes telling people why she did and why they are to blame for her death. I found this to be a well written sad but realistic novel.
10 Secret Circle series: I read these three books together so I have a problem separating them but I love them all with it's interesting plot, a number of characters I love and of course witchcraft. I also love that at the beginning at least it was kind of about witches who were also bitches for some reason I real enjoy that.
Manga
1. Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicle: I have actually finished this series although I've only reviewed the first 3 volumes so far. I love this series because I like the concept, love the characters and the relationships they share. I also liked that there were quite a few plot twist even though a lot of them made me really upset and the ones at the end of the series were pretty confusing. I also love the art and the seemingly endless crossovers with over other Clamp series.
2. Cardcaptor Sakura: I love this series because everything is just so cute, happy and nice. I really love the characters and all the forms of love that are explored in the sweetest most Innocent way but I do have a soft spot for the romantic relationships. I also love that it's a magical girl series because that's one of my favorite sub genres. I also love the artwork it's super adorable which fits the series perfectly and it has an entirely happy ending which I'm beginning to realize is a far thing in Clampverse.
3. Tokyo Babylon:I love this series which blends the occult and social issues flawlessly and is able to make the reader care about the oneshot characters. I also love all three of the main characters although they are very different from each other. I also love the series for having one of the most depressing ends I ever read and that the theme of the series is that no one can really judge another person's pain.
4. Pandora Hearts:I love this twisted series that has a strange number of parallels to Alice in Wonderland but I can't think of a good way to explain. I like the characters so far and the plot is very intriguing.
5. Magic Knight Rayearth: I love this magical girl series about a group of three girls being transport to another world and becoming as close as sister extremely quickly. I love the characters, the world and the plot. The artwork is also beautiful.
6. Sakura Hime: The Legend of Princess Sakura: Another magical girl series and it involves swords and demons. I like quite a few of the characters and the plot is interesting and the artwork is beautiful.
7. Xxxholic: Another series that blends the occult with ordinary human issues, it's a very good series and it crossover with Tsubasa. I love the characters and the artwork as well.
8. Sailor Moon: A classic magical girl series with great characters, a good plot and beautiful older shugo style artwork.
9. Kobato:A lovely series about a kindhearted ditz, the characters are likable and the artwork is beautiful.
10. Clover:A very interesting series about people with extra special powers and how they have to live because of it.
I'm now considering doing a list like this for tv episodes, is anyone interested in that?

Fangirll Friday 14
Fangirl five Friday is a weekly meme host Nancy Drew is my Homegirl and what it's meme that has you list the top five things you've been fangirling about this week.
1. Teen Wolf:This week I watched episodes 6 and 7 of Teen Wolf and I loved both episodes to be great. I especially loved episode 6 because it had a fast moving plot and I thought the writing was really good as well especially with the humor being especially good in this episode. I also loved all the kanima mythology we got in the past two episodes and overall I just really enjoy each episode.
2. The Amazing Spiderman: I saw The Amazing Spiderman this week and loved it because it was just a very entertaining movie. I also loved the character Peter Parker who started off the film being pretty adorkable which is quality that I love in a character, and I also felt like his growth as a character was believable. I thought it had a good balance of story, character and action making it my favorite film of the year so far.
3. White Collar: White Collar came back this week and so far I'm really enjoying season 4 even though it's really different than the last three seasons. I love this show and the characters which made it nice to see them all again.
4. Xxxholic: I reread volume 2 of this week and I loved it, I've always the plots that involve different ways of explaining how supernatural phenoms and human nature work. I also find the cross overs with Tsubasa to be interesting and informative. I also love the characters and the art.

Manga Review: Xxxholic Vol.2
Xxxholic Vol.2 Review
This volume starts right were the first one ended with the Tsubasa version of Syaoran and Sakura arriving at Yuko's shop. While Watanuki is getting the Mokonas Yuko explains while speaking through Maru and Moro the concepts of other worlds and people who are the same but different that exist in each world, Watanuki is understandably confused by these concepts. Yuko also mentions that she and Clow Reed made the Mokona's especially to travel through the worlds and to give the white Mokona to Syaoran, Sakura, Kurogane and Fai.
The next few chapters that follow deals with fortune telling what it truly means, how to tell the difference between a real fortune teller and fake. These chapters were very interesting especially with the parts of how fortune telling is truly paid for such as with luck or a soul could be a form of payment, although it's mentioned that taking one souls as payment usually brings misfortune to the person that receives it as well.
The third deals with a ghost story ceremony which came about when Yuko decided that Watanuki should invite Himawari, the girl that Watanuki likes,on a date and since it was summer Yuko thought that ghost story ceremony was the best way and that it should be a group thing. Yuko also insisted that it took place at Domeki's family's temple, Domeki is someone who goes to school with Watanuki that he doesn't really like but people often assume they're friends. The ghost stories that are told at the ceremony are interesting and as are the way they prepared for the ceremony with setting up wards before hand.
I also found it interesting that Yuko revealed that Domeki can exorcise and keep away spirit forces and that because of this most likely he's connected to Watanuki who can attract and see spirits. I really enjoyed this volume it had interesting stories and concepts presented. I also liked getting to see more of the characters all of which I love or like so far. I also continue to like the art style I especially like Yuko's character design and wardrobe and Himawari's hair. I overall loved this volume, please tell me your thoughts on the series.

Manga Review: Xxxholic V.1
Xxxholic V.1Review
Xxxholic is a series by Clamp that is about a high school boy named Watanuki who can see spirits which trouble him and one day he accidentally wonders into Yuko's shop. Yuko is a witch that will grant any wish for the right price and she decides that she will grant Watanuki's wish to not see spirits anymore but he'll have to work for her in order to pay for that wish.
The rest of the volume deals with her clients and a bit of explaining how the spirit world works. Yuko's other two climates in this volume are a woman who can't stop lying which is so much of a bad habit that it starts to effect her physically and the second client is a woman who can't seem to stop going on her computer. My favorite parts of the volume is whenever Yuko explains how the spirit world or human nature works.
I also really liked all the references to other clamp series like seeing a replica of the sealing rod from Cardcaptor Sakura and Yuko's reference to an au version of Subaru or the cameo of two characters from Legal Drug. I also liked how this volume ends when Tsubasa's Syaoran came to Yuko to ask her to save Sakura.
I overall really liked this series it has interesting plots, mythology and likable characters. Please tell me your thoughts on the series in the comment section below.

Top 8 books that Deceived me
1. Fruits Basket: The covers are very simple which made me as well as many other people right this series off as boring because of it's forgettable cover but the story that lays under those covers is beautiful and unforgettable.
2 and 3. X and Xxxholic:I get why both of the series are titled the way they are but almost everyone who sees either of these series on my Christmas list right way assumes that it's erotic or a prono which they are not at all they haven't even had anyone kiss on the lips as of yet.
4. Uglies: I find the model on the cover of this book to look prettier then the ones on the second and third books of the series but this is probably just a personal preference thing.
5. Tricks: The description on the back of the book makes it seem like the stories are all going to interconnect at some point but sadly they don't really which makes me sad but the book was still great. Also the back cover says there would be only one gay character but I felt like there were two them being Seth and Ginger but that's a minor thing so it doesn't really bother me much.
6. Anna and the French Kiss: This title makes it seem like this book is going to be dirty but it's a totally sweet innocent love story.
7. The Summoning: While I personally love the cover I also find it to be deceiving because it makes it seem like the jewel will be really important to the story but it isn't that important and it's not described in as looking like the one on the cover.
8. Evermore: I found the description to be deceiving because it made it sound like this book would be about Ever learning how to control her new supernatural abilities with a little romance on the side instead the book was about Ever ignoring her abilities, high school drama and a ton of romance that ranged from creepy to boring, I'm not a fan of this book so I'm sorry if you find my description to be too mean.
