Top 10 Books I Could Reread Forever

1. Fruits Basket: This series is my favorite series ever and I have already reread the series at least five times and I find that my love for the series only increases with each time I reread it and I can't see that changing ever. This series is a really good one to reread because it becomes clear that the author knew where she wanted to take the characters and series from the beginning so you notice new bits of foreshadowing when you reread the series. The series is one where I just love seeing the characters and relationship develop over time and I find myself just as invested in them on rereads as I was the first time I read it.
2. Reading in the Dark: This is a book I always feel compelled to reread and I think that the reason behind this is the fact that I think so much of the story is about what isn't being said rather than what is said so it takes rereading it to truly appreciate what the book is about.
3. Percy Jackson and the Olympians: I feel like this series would be good to reread because the books are so much fun and I love the characters and world that the series is set in so much that I find myself wanting to revisit this series.
4. Wolves of Mercy Falls series: This series is one that I think would be good to reread because I really enjoy the characters and I really would like to see if I see them a bit differently on my second read of the series. I also feel like Linger and Sinner would be the two best books to reread because I feel like those books are the ones that did the best at digging into who the characters are.
5. It's Kind of a Funny Story: I think this book would be good to reread because I really loved it when I first read it and I've been wanting to reread it sometime in the future.
6. Cardcaptor Sakura: This series is one that I loved rereading because it is one that just makes me happy each time I revisit it because it such a sweet and optimistic series as a whole.
7. Hex Hall series: This series is one that I remember being a really fun read so I would like to reread because I felt like I went through this series fairly fast the first time I read through it because I just had to know what happened next, so I think I reread would help me appreciate the series more.
8. Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicle: This series is a long one and one that had a lot of twist and turns in it's second half so I think that a reread for this series is something that is necessary for this series.
9. All the Bright Places: This is a book that I really loved and I find myself wanting to reread even though I just read it a few months ago.
10. Dare Me: This book was a great read and I really loved the writing style that this book had because you got real sense of personality from it and I think it would be a good one to reread.

Top 7 Things I Want to Read this Summer

1. School Spirits: This book is set in the same world as Hex Hall and since I loved that series I'm looking forward to reading this book.
2. While You Were Sleeping: This one is a Korean drama rather than a book but since I have to read subtitles I figured that it can fit the theme of this list. This drama is written by favorite drama writer, Park Hye-Ryun who also wrote I Hear Your Voice, Pinocchio, Dream High and Page Turner and it also stars my favorite Korean actor Lee Jong Suk who also starred in I Hear Your Voice, Pinocchio, W and School 2013. So anyways I'm really excited about this drama because of who are working on it and because the description of it kind of reminds of I Hear Your Voice and in case it's not clear by this point I really, really loved that drama. Although I have to admit I don't actually know if this drama will come out in the summer since the only air dates they have released for the show is in the second half of 2017 and it will air on Wednesdays and Thursdays.
3. United We Spy: This book is the final book in the Gallagher Girls series and I feel like it's time that I finally finish this series that has brought me so much joy.
4.All the Bright Places: This book is one that sounded interesting and since I already own it seems like a good idea to read it sooner rather than later.
5. Literally: This book is a new release about a girl who finds out that she is becoming a character in a novel and how she has to fight to get agency over her life once more. This novel has a cool concept that reminds me a lot of the Kdrama W but from the description I think this book will have lower stakes since the in universe novel that our main character is part of seems to be more of the coming of age genre rather than the crime thriller genre so less chance of dying and probably less questioning about how a writer should take care of their characters.
6. School 2017: This is another Kdrama that I want to see this summer but unlike While You Were Sleeping I know that this one will air in the summer. I'm not sure what this series will be about exactly expect that it will deal with the school lives of high school students but since I love those types of shows and I loved School 2013 I think that I'll probably enjoy this one as well.
7. Pretty Fierce: This is another new release that sounds really good about a girl whose parents were professional killers which sounds like an interesting idea for a character to have that type of background while still being a romantic YA novel.

Book Review: Hex Hall: Spellbound

                                                           Spellbound Review
Spellbound is the third book and final book in the Hex Hall series and it starts off with Sophie dealing with the fallout of the end of the last book. Sophie starts off the book fearing for her father's, Cal's, Archer's and Jenna's lives since they were in danger when she left them and she has no idea where they are now. Not only that but Sophie has to deal with yet another revelation about her family when she finds out that her mother is part of prodigum fighting family which makes her one to. Sophie deals with a lot of questions right away and doesn't seem to have any answers on how to keep her loved ones and the world safe from the Casnoffs.

By the mid section of the book Sophie knows what has happened to everyone she cares about but she is now trapped at Hex Hall without her powers along with Archer, Jenna and Cal. The group along with Elodie's ghost have to come up with a way to stop the Casnoffs and it's a task that seems to become even more impossible as time goes on.

Overall I really enjoyed this book it was both a lot of fun but also had a lot of great dramatic plot elements with the plot twists and insights into the characters emotional states. I really loved all the major characters and how they worked together, I especially loved the friendship between Sophie and Jenna and the romantic pairing of Sophie and Archer. I overall thought that this book was a great way to end a great series and I wish I could say more about this book's plot but I feel like there are too many spoilers that would be revealed if I did that. Please tell me what you thought about this book or entire series in the comment section below.

Book Review: Hex Hall: Demonglass

                                                          Demonglass Review
The second book of the Hex Hall series starts off months after the first book but during this time Sophie really hasn't gotten a lot of answers although she has decided that she wants to go through with this dangerous process called the removal in order to remove her demon powers because she fears loosing control and killing someone. Sophie's father who is also head of the council makes her a deal that if she comes to live with him in England for the summer and at the end of that time she still wants to go through with the removal she can, Sophie reluctantly agrees to this deal after assuring that Jenna could come with her.

Throughout the summer Sophie learns more about her father, demons, her family's history and her possible future as well as uncovering a conspiracy that will most likely lead to war with the eye. I really enjoyed Sophie getting to know her father because I liked how she recognized some similarities between the two of them. I liked that over the course of the book Sophie became more comfortable with the idea of being head of the council one day and that even though she tried to make herself like Cal as more than a friend once she found out that they were betrothed she just couldn't do it.

This book also deals with Sophie coming to understand why Archer was part of the eye even though he's a warlock and also coming to terms with the fact that despite what side he's on she still does have feelings for him. I really enjoyed the banter between Sophie and Archer just like I did in the first book and I really liked how their relationship developed in this one.

Overall I loved this book and it makes me excited to read the next one which is always a good sign. I also continue to love Sophie and Jenna's friendship in this book even though I feel like there wasn't as much of it as there was in the last book it was still great. Please tell me your thoughts on this book.

1. Scarlet: I loved the first book in The Lunar Chronicles series and I can't wait to read the next book because I would love to continue the story and I hear this book his a retelling of Little Red Riding Hood and since they did such a great job with the first book I can't wait to see what they did with this fairytale.
2. Out of Sight, Out of Mind: I've loved the first four books in the Gallagher Girls series and I'm sure I'll love this one as well and I hear that this book is one of the best in the series so I'm looking forward to reading it as soon as I can.

Top 10 Books on my Fall To be Read list 2013

1. Forever: I loved the first two books of the Wolves of Mercy Falls series especially the second one so I'm really looking forward to seeing how the series ends although I'm pretty sure I'm not going to like how it ends because I have stumbled on to some spoilers that makes it sounds like the one thing that I absolutely did not want to happen to Sam does but I'm sure even if I'm right about that I'll still enjoy the characters and their relationships so that means all overall enjoy the book.
2. The Reckoning: I've loved the first two books of the series and I'm really looking forward to seeing how the series ends.
3. The Mark of Athena: I loved all the books that came before this one and I love all the characters and I'm excited to see on what adventures they go on next.
4. Manic Pixie Dreamgirl: This book sounds like it would be really interesting with how it seems to be about deconstructing the manic pixie dreamgirl trope which is a favorite of mine and it also sounds like the main character is the type I tend to like. Also the passage on the back cover totally sucked me in.
5. The Maze Runner: The movie is going to be released in February and since I'm a big fan of three of the cast members I feel I need to read the book before that and also the books sounds pretty interesting.
6. Demonglass: I loved the first Hex Hall book and I would love to be able to read the second book of the series soon.
7. Catching Fire: This book is one I feel more like I need to read then I want to read because while I liked the first book it did really make feel all that attached to the characters or care as much as I should have and in all honesty I'm more than willing to just watch the movie because like half the reason this book is on this list is because I really love Jena Malone and I'm excited to see her act again and well that's a pretty crap reason to read a book so don't except a review anytime soon.
8. Crank: I love Ellen Hopkins books and this is her most well known one which ironically is one of the few that I haven't read yet. I love Ellen Hopkins writing style and the story sounds like an interesting one.
9. If I Stay: I've heard a lot of great things about this book and I own it so I feel like I should read this one.
10. Adam and Eve: When this book first came out I thought it didn't sound that interesting but after reading the TV Tropes page on it, it actually sounds really interesting and like a type of book that I would really enjoy.

On a completely unrelated note I'm writing this post about comparing the show Teen Wolf to paranormal YA and I was wondering if any of you guys would be interested in reading it since it's going to be fairly long post I'm not sure I want to put the effort into if no one wants to read it.

Top 10 Books set in Schools

1. Gallagher Girls: I love this fun action series that is set in a boarding school for teenage girl who are training to be spies. I feel that the school makes the books what they are with there assignments being used to further their own off the books investigations and the spy training is something that is very much ingrained in all of the main characters. I love all the books of this series I have read so far it's a series that can be a lot of fun but there are also shocking plot twists and real danger in the series as well.
2. Rosario+ Vampire: This is a series that I love a lot about an extremely average human boy who accidently finds himself going to a school for monsters. This series is one that starts off pretty humorous but as the series goes on it's clear that the series has a lot of heart and it also takes several dark turns at times as well.
3. Looking for Alaska: This is a lovely coming of age story about a boy named Pudge coming out of his shell a bit and making some friends that change his perspective on life. This book also deals with loss quite brilliantly and I really love the way that it is written and I really love the messages that come from this book in the end.
4. Secret Circle: This is a story about witches and high school basically and I really love that this series mixes the mean girls of high school with the fantastical element of magic. I love that magic in this series is used for petty things because that's the type of stuff real teenagers would do if they had magic. There's also some intriguing darker plots that develop as the series goes on that I enjoyed as well.
5. Gakuen Alice: This series is about a boarding school for people who have special abilities called Alices. This series actually has a good plot that can get surprisingly dark considering how old the main characters are. I really love the characters and the relationships in this series as well.
6. Shugo Chara: This series is a magical girl series that is set in high school and is about finding your true self. I love the magical girl genre in general and I especially love the characters in this one.
7. Hex Hall: This is a series about a boarding school for faries, shape shifters and witches, the series is great fun but it's also has a really intriguing plot as well and has more twists to the story then I was expecting. I also really love the friendship between Sophie and Jenna a whole lot.
8. The Lying Game: This is a series that is about an incredible cruel clique and a girl who is impersonating her dead twin while she tries to figure out who murdered her because her twin has a lot of enemies this makes the task very difficult.
9. Fruits Basket: This is my favorite series of all time and there's quite a bit of time spent in school in the series but a lot of time is spent in other places as well which is why the series is so low.
10. Cardcaptor Sakura: This is my favorite magical girl series lots of time spent in school but also other places but it's a great series either way.

Top 10 Books I want to Read this summer

1. Looking for Alaska: I'm actually reading this book right now and I absolutely love it there's so many good quotes and I love the characters as well. This is only my second John Green book but I think this one may be my favorite but I'm not quite sure yet since I haven't finished it yet.
2. Cinder: This book sounds like a book that I would love and so many people recommend it and love it so it's been high on my to be read list for a long time so I want to actually read it this summer.
3. The Reckoning: I loved the first two books of The Darkest Powers series so I'm sure I'll love the exciting ending of the series and since I just bought the book that means I'm able to read it soon.
4. It's Kind of a Funny Story: I've actually read the first couple of pages of this book months ago and I loved it but I was reading a couple other books at the time so I haven't got back to reading it yet. I also watched the movie years ago and I loved it and since the book is usually better the movie that means I'll love the book even more.
5. The Mark of Athena: I loved the first two books in the Heroes of Olympus series and I see no reason why I wouldn't love this book as well so I'm looking forward to reading this book.
6. Manic Pixie Dreamgirl: I've just bought this book after reading what it was about in the book store it sounded exactly like the kind of book I would love so I'm really excited to read this one. I haven't heard anyone else mention anything about this book so I'll be going into it pretty much blind so that's something I find really cool as well.
7. Forever: I loved the first two books of the Wolves of Mercy Falls series and I love all of the many characters so I'm excited and a little nervous about seeing how their stories are going to end. I own this book already which is good because that means I can start it at anytime I want to. I really hope that the last book is as good as Linger which is my favorite book in the series so far which I hear isn't exactly a popular opinion but I really enjoyed the way the characters were handled in it so I hope that continues in the last book.
8. If I Stay: I hear great things about this book and it's been on my to be read list for awhile now and I hear it's sad and sometimes I really enjoy crying about books or fiction in general. I own this book already but I'm not exactly excited about reading it but I have a feeling that I'll end up enjoying it.
9. Demonglass: I loved Hex Hall so much and the end had a good number of twists to it so I'm really looking forward to the next book of the series. The only reason this book is so far down on the list is because I don't actually own the book yet.
10. Catching Fire: I feel that I need to read the book before I see the movie and since Jena Malone is in the movie I'm actually looking forward to movie since she's one of my favorite actresses but I'm not exactly look forward to the book because while I liked the Hunger Games I didn't love it and I don't feel the need to go back to that world and spend more time with the characters.

Top 10 Beach Reads

Since this was also a Top 10 Tuesday list last year that I did I decided to make sure that I didn't put any of the books I put on the list last year so most of this books won't really be what I think of as beach reads(especially since when I go to the beach I spend the day swimming not reading so I'm not really sure what a beach book is)
1. Hex Hall: I think this book would be a good beach read because the story of the first book at least has an overall humorous tone and while thinks do get dark at times through out the book it never gets too dark. Plus there's witchcraft and the amazingly cute friendship between Sophie and Jenna(the witch who knows nothing of the supernatural and the vampire who love all things pink) which is my favorite thing in the book.
2. Heroes of Olympus: I think this series fits because it's an action adventure series that has quite a lot of comic moments also there's great characters and mythology through out the books. There are times when things don't look like they aren't going to work out but so far things haven't become too dark or sad yet.
3. Cardcaptor Sakura: This is the series that makes me happiest because the story is by far the sweetest one I've ever read and I love everything about the series the characters, the relationships, the plot and the themes. This series is adorable and I never get tried of it and the artwork is gorgeous as well, also I've been in a bit of a Clamp mood the last couple of days so I'm putting a lot of Clamp on this list but I feel this series best fits my idea of a beach read.
4. Beauty Pop: This is a series that I think fits being a beach read because it's one that makes me laugh and I don't take it too seriously but I still love the series. This series is about people who are over the top serious about hair cutting and most of these people are boys which makes it even more hilarious.
5. Alice in Wonderland/Through the Looking Glass: This book is one of my favorites because it's about a world of nonsense and I think that it'd be a good book to loose yourself in while your down at the beach.
6. Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicle: I'm honestly putting this on the list mostly because I'm in a Tsubasa mood at the moment and I really want to reread the series but I do actually believe the first half of the series would be a good beach read. The first half of the series is relatively light hearted and there's plenty of adventures and general silliness as well as the start of our group of travelers eventually becoming like a family which is one of my favorite things about the series. Then of course my favorite thing in the series is probably that in the first half of the series we get plenty of sweet/cute moments between Syaoran and Sakura which I always adore. I'm going to spam a few pictures of these two because I love them, they're cute and I need more pictures of them on my blog.

7. Shugo Chara: This is a lovely magical girl series that deals with self discovering and is super cute and I love the characters and the plot as well and I think it's a nice light read that would be good for the beach.
8. Magic Knight Rayearth: This is a series that I think would be a great beach read because it's full of action and adventure as well as a great three girl friendship that is incredibly sweet. Also it's another magical girl series and I'm a big fan of those. The end of the first half the series is pretty sad though so be sure to read the second half of the series if you want a happy ending.
9. Kobato: This another series by Clamp which means it has gorgeous artwork also I love the kindhearted but somewhat clueless heroine and I love seeing her try her best to do good deeds. It's a sweet fun series that I think would be a good beach read.
10. Wolves of Mercy Falls series: This series I think would be a good beach read due to it's description of the temperatures because it always manages to make me feel a bit of a chill. Although I wouldn't exactly call the series light because of Sam's past and well Cole in general and Isabel is pretty messed up in Linger as well and the whole being a wolf thing doesn't sound all that great either so it has quite a few darker elements in my opinion which makes me love the series even more but if your goal is to read a happy book it wouldn't be my first choice.

Top 10 Covers of Books I've Read

1. Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicle Vol. 15: I really love this cover because it looks really pretty which I expect from Clamp and because it looks like everything is happy on the cover which I think is really nice considering that this volume is the first one set in Acid Tokyo which is when the series starts to get both a lot darker and a lot sadder.
2. Magic Knight Rayearth II Omnibus edition: I love this cover because one I just really love Clamp's artwork in general and two it's just one of their prettiest covers in my opinion.
3. Sakura Hime: The Legend of Princess Sakura: I love this cover because I find the artwork to be beautiful and I think it suits the story.
4. The Summoning: I just really love the cover it looks mysterious and lovely, it's actually what got me to read the book.
5. International Gallagher Girls covers: I just really love this covers because of the girls in school girl uniforms looking potentially dangerous which fits the series well.
6. Heist Society: I think the cover is really pretty and fits the story of the book.
7. Hex Hall: I just really love this cover because of the two pictures of the girl and I don't know I just really like the cover and I really like the book as well.
8. Perfect: I just really love all the colors that were used and I like the font that the title was in as well, basically I just thought the cover was pretty and since I love this book so much it's one of the first that came to mind.
9. Shiver: This cover is very simple but it's still great to look at and after looking at it for awhile I saw that the designs were of the woods which ties in nicely with the novel.
10. Anna and the French Kiss: Unlike almost everyone else I love the cover of Anna and the French Kiss because it looks really cute in my opinion which I think suits the book because isn't Anna and the French Kiss suppose to be a cute fluffy romance novel because if it isn't than that would explain everyone's hate for this cover and possibly why everyone else thinks this is one the best books of all time.

Top 10 Books I Read When I need something light and fun

1. Heist Society: I love this series about a group of teenage con artist who are able to plan and put into actions a number of elaborate heists. I love the characters and their relationships and I also think the book has a nice sense of humor to at times as well.
2. Pants on Fire: This is a lovely book by Meg Cabot who I love her writing style and I think that her books have a great sense of humor. I also remember I loved the characters a lot as well.
3. Cardcaptor Sakura: This is a series I love because of how happy it can make me it's just so sweet and cute and I love everything about this series. I love the artwork, the characters, the relationships and the plot.
4. How to Be Popular: Another great Meg Cabot book that I loved that had a great sense of humor and good characters.
5. Beauty Pop: This may very well be the weirdest series I've ever read but I love the series since it made me laugh quite a bit. This series is about people who take hair styling extremely seriously and that is part of the reason I love it.
6. Hex Hall: I love this series because of the characters and plot, I especially love that magic is a big part of the plot and I love the friendship between Sophie and Jenna so much their parts together has made me laugh at times and warmed my heart at others. I do think there will be darker aspects as the series moves on so it's not an entirely light series by any means.
7. Gallagher Girls: I love this series about girls in spy school and I love that it has a sense of humor to it and that the girls have a strong friendship and are mix of their teenage selves as well as spies. The series gets darker as it moves on but that makes it better in my opinion.
8. Secret Circle: I love this series because it combines witches and teenage bitches which are weirdly two of my favorite things. The series plotline is actually quite dark the more I think about it but the reasons I love this series so much is due to witches, bitches and les yay tastic friendships.
9. Percy Jackson and the Olympians: This is my favorite book series I love it's great characters, relationships, plots, mythology and sense of humor. the series can be a bit dark at times with it having characters deaths and the threat of civilization falling.
10. Fruits Basket: This is my favorite series of all time it's perfect in my opinion and I love everything about it so reading it makes me super happy. The series can be pretty dark at times though.

Top 5 Female Friendship in Fiction

I'm just making this list because it's been a while since I did a list that wasn't a part of some meme.
1. Sakura and Tomoyo(Cardcaptor Sakura): I just really love this friendship because they both clearly love each other, they both have so much faith in each other and while they are different in quite a few ways the two of them just end up admiring each other for those differences. I love how Sakura values Tomoyo's emotional support so much through out the series and that she was able to trust Tomoyo with her secret right a way. I love how Tomoyo has this complete unwavering faith in Sakura and all of her abilities and that she wants more than anything is for Sakura to be happy. I just really love this two and I think they have a beautiful friendship.
2. Faye and Melissa(Secret Circle): I love their friendship because they have this good understanding of each other and they there for each other when they need to be. I really love how Faye can be a bit protective of Melissa such as when she started seeing Nick and Faye thought he wouldn't treat her right so she made sure to confront him about it to make sure he treated her right. I love how Melissa can see that although Faye can come off as a bitch a lot of the time that she does truly care about her but she just isn't always the nicest person. I loved how the two of them would have fun together with their magic as well and I love the chemistry that the two of them share as well.
3. Hikaru, Umi and Fuu(Magic Knight Rayearth): I love how fast these girls bonded and I loved how within a day or two of being transported into to this strange world that they all learned to work together and started to see each other as sister. I loved how all three of them would never turn on or abandon each other to save themselves but that they were all willing to die in order to save the other two. I also loved how they all had different personalities but were still able to come together so quickly and I loved how the whole story was mostly about their friendship with each other.
4. Holly J and Fiona(Degrassi: TNG): This two are a bit different from the rest of the friendships on the list since when they first met they didn't get along at all but that all changed in season 10 when Fiona went to Holly J when she felt she had no one else to go to. I love that these two became friends because before this Fiona didn't have any friends and none of Holly J's friends really appreciated her overachiever personality. I really just loved how their relationship developed and how much the care for each other and see the good in each other and are there for each other whenever they're going through something.
5. Sophie and Jenna(Hex Hall): Even though I've only read the first book of the series so far I have to say that there friendship is my favorite part so far. I love how they are both outcasts with Sophie's dad being the head of the council and Jenna being a vampire although both these things makes it hard for them to make friends with anyone else it doesn't stop them from being friends with each other nor does the fact that Sophie could have had the chance to have more friends if she wasn't friends with Jenna. I love how when people started to accuse Jenna of killing people that Sophie trusted that Jenna would never do something like that no matter what anyone else said. I also love how the two are able to tease each other and do normal teenage girl things such as have fun getting ready for the dance despite their supernatural status.

End of Year Book Survey 2012

                                                               Best in Books
1. Best Book You Read In 2012?
Fantasy: Game of Thrones
Contemporary: Perfect
2. Book You Were Excited About & Thought You Were Going To Love More But Didn’t?
Anna and the French Kiss, I was really looking forward to reading Anna and the French Kiss because I heard it's was this great sweet romance with wonderfully developed characters, a relate able main character and an extremely charming love interest. But once I actually read the book I felt like it was okay but not really anything special and I hated that St. Clair had a girlfriend the almost the whole book even though it was clear that he was in love with Anna and he basically went on dates with her all year and that he only broke up with his other girlfriend once his friends caught him with his tongue halfway down Anna's throat and I felt like the writing of St.Clair was trying to make him too perfect with the being French but having a British accent, I really didn't like St.Clair so that kind of ruined the book for me.
3.Most surprising (in a good way!) book of 2012? The Lost Gate, I just kind of picked this book up one day in the book store and I was happy to discover that it was a great story of someone coming of age and also having the whole mage thing and all it's mythology.

The Poisoner's Handbook, this book was non-fiction and had to do with different kinds of poisons and I ended up really enjoying this book which I thought I wouldn't since I was only reading it because it was assigned for a class.
8. Most thrilling, unputdownable book in 2012? The Awakening, the second book in The Darkest Powers series was even more exciting than the first.
9. Book You Read In 2012 That You Are Most Likely To Re-Read Next Year: Tokyo Babylon volumes 5-7 because I still have to review those volumes therefore I have reread them next year.

2. Sansa(A Song of Ice and Fire): I just really loved, understood and related to her character through out most of the first book and I really feel bad for at the end of the book but I really admire how she's keeping herself together in A Clash of Kings.
3. Cole St. Clair(Wolves of Mercy Falls): I just love that he's filled with self-hatred and he's such a wreck and really reckless but also very smart and I think he brings a lot to the series.
12.Most beautifully written book read in 2012? I'd say Tricks by Ellen Hopkins she has the most beautiful way of writing and her characters always have such depth.

Sansa stared hard at his ugly face, remembering how he had thrown down her father for Ser Ilyn to behead, wishing she could hurt him , wishing that some hero would throw him down and cut off his head. But a voice inside her whispered,  There are no heroes, and she remembered what Lord Petyr had said to her, here in this very hall. "Life is not a song, sweetling," he'd told her. "You may learn that one day to your sorrow."  In life, the monsters win, she told herself, and now the Hound's voice she heard, a cold rasp, metal on stone. "Save yourself some pain, girl and give him what he wants."-Game of Thrones

Top 10 Books I read in 2012

1. Game of Thrones: I love this book because of the world that it creates and I love how real and detailed that world is. I love that there are so many narrators in the book and that they all bring something different to the story, my favorite characters are Daenerys, Sansa and Tyrion. I love the plot with all the medieval politics which is a deadly game that almost every character is a part of whether they want to be or not.
2. Perfect: I love this book because it deals with four teenagers different ideas of what it means to be perfect and than shows how willing they are to achieve this perfection. I also love that it's a companion novel to Impulse one of my all time favorite books and I love the verse that Ellen Hopkins tells this story in. I love that this book was told from four different characters point of view as well.
3. Tokyo Babylon volume 7: I love this book because it pretty much broke my heart the entire time I was reading this book and for quite sometime afterwards as well, I just love it when a book can give me this strong of an emotional reactions. I love this series and all three of the main characters so it made me really sad to loose one and have another one be completely broken at the end of the series but I think this whole volume was brilliantly written and this was how the series had to end.
4.The Son of Neptune: I love this book because it's another adventure story by Rick Riordan that deals with demigods and I love that Percy Jackson(one of my favorite book characters of all time) is back in this book and once again a narrator. I love seeing how different the Roman camp was from the Greek one and I loved meeting new characters and go on a new adventure, I also love how the humor is still a big part of the book.
5. Tricks: Another lovely book by Ellen Hopkins this time it has to do with a bunch of different young people who end up selling themselves in order to survive. I love this book because it had a wide variety of characters who all made different choices but ended up in similar situations which I found to be very interesting. I loved reading about this characters even though they've all make huge mistakes through out the book they're still very interesting characters to read about.
6. Thirteen Reasons Why: I love this book because of how it explains why Hannah would commit suicide but at the same time it also shows how someone's suicide effects the people the person left behind deals with the aftermath. I also find it sad and interesting that it wasn't one big thing but a bunch of little things that led to Hannah's decision.
7. The Lost Hero: I love this book because it has an interesting plot, I love all three of these new main characters and I loved seeing some of my old favorite characters from the Percy Jackson and the Olympians series as well. I loved learning more about the mythology of this world, learning more about the new prophecy and I was really invested in the relationship between Jason and Piper as well.
8. The Awakening: The second book in the Darkest Powers series is much better than the first in my opinion because I feel like the book had a good pace this time I found that the plot moved pretty fast at the beginning and the end of the book and I loved that when the plot slowed down in the middle of the book it was in order to develop characters, relationships or powers.
9. Linger:I really loved this book because I loved all of the characters and I loved their different stories they had in this book. I also love that this book introduced the character Cole who is extremely interesting and a great contrast to Sam who is still my favorite character. I also loved that Isabel was a narrator in this book because I always found her character interesting but now I love her even more. I also love the new developments in the mythology of the series as well.
10. Hex Hall: I love this fun tale of a witch at boarding school and I love all the twists that happen towards the end of the book. I also love Sophie's friendship with Jenna and Sophie relationship with Archer as well.

Book Review: Hex Hall

                                                            Hex Hall Review
Hex Hall is about a young witch named Sophie Mercer who after a love spell goes wrong is sent to a boarding school for Prodigium also known as supernatural beings. Sophie has a hard time adjusting to life at Hecate, her boarding school due to not really knowing anything about being a witch, finding out her dad his head of the council, making enemies with a trio of popular witches and befriending the only vampire at Hecate. Sophie also has developed a crush on Archer Cross who already has a girlfriend and his girlfriend Elodie is one of the witches that Sophie has became enemies with very early on in the book.

There's also been attacks on members of Elodie's coven of witches which have left the victims drained of their blood with the victims waking up without any memories of the attack or not waking up at all. Most of the school blames Jenna the only vampire at the school but Sophie doesn't believe this is true because she and Jenna have become close friends and therefore Sophie begins to suspect that a demon or a group of Prodigium hunters named L' Occhio di Dio are behind the attacks.

I really loved the friendship that developed over the course of the novel between Sophie and Jenna because it felt real to me and I loved how much they cared about each other and often times ended up having fun together and cheering each other up. I also enjoyed the romantic tension that developed through out the story between Sophie and Archer. Another thing I liked was that there were quite a few twist that came into view towards the end of the novel involving both demons and L' Occhio di Dio and I'm really excited to see what those twists means for the future of the series.

I overall loved Hex Hall it had fun and witty writing style, an exciting plot but still felt very much like a teenage story and I really liked a lot of the characters and their relationships with each other as well. Please tell me your thoughts on this book.
