TV Review: Romance is a Bonus Book

Romance is a Bonus Book Review
Romance is a Bonus Book is about Kang Dan-I who is  thirty seven years old and recently divorced with a daughter, Dan-I is having trouble finding a job since she took several years off of work to raise her daughter. Dan-I is stuck in a very bad position when it comes to finding a job since because of her gap in employment she's not qualified for upper level jobs but on the other hand entry level jobs won't hire her because she is overqualified for those jobs. Dan-I's living situation becomes so bad that her house ends up getting not just foreclosed on but actually ends up getting torn down so this means she's left with pretty much nothing with nowhere to live and this leads her to secretly living in her friend Cha Eun Ho. Eun Ho is five years younger than Dan-I and he is writer and a chief editor at a publishing firm, he has known Dan-I since he was fairly young after she saved his life and he visited her frequently in the hospital after that. Eun Ho has had a crush on Dan-I for years but she only sees him as a friend or a younger brother.

The publishing company that Eun Ho works at ends up looking to hire people to work for them from any background regardless of experience or age which leads to Dan-I ending up applying for that job but deletes her previous job history in marketing and her college education because she's learned from all of her rejections that a job would feel more comfortable hiring her if they believe that she is beneath them. Dan-I ends up getting the job which is great for her and she ends up being the best new hire they end up getting both because of her experience and how hard working she is. Dan-I applying for the job obviously tips Eun Ho off that something is going on with Dan-I since he knows that she was lying on her resume which leads to her telling him about everything bad that has been happening for the past year, Dan-I and Eun Ho end up both living and working together.

This series is one that has a lot of love for the book publishing industry and shows how hard getting a book to be published can be and how much time and energy everyone who works on it puts into it. This series is one that has a lot of good supporting characters as well who all get their own subplots that you'll end up getting invested in has well that makes the series even better. Overall I really liked this series. Please tell me your thoughts in the comment section below.

TV Review: Come and Hug Me

                                                           Come and Hug Me Review
Come and Hug Me is about how Gil Nak Won and Yoon Na Moo are connected to each other both do a friendship and mutual childhood crushes that they have on each other and because Na Moo's father was the serial killer that murder Nak Won's parents and he ended up saving her from that same fate. Nak Won and Na Moo are still living with the trauma of what happened when they were young as adults and both of them now go by different names to try and get a fresh start although this doesn't seem to help much since reports end up looking into them and reveal what their new identities are to the public. Nak Won as gone on to follow in her mother's footsteps and become an actress like her mother was before her death, this is something to keeps her in the public eye of course which one of the reasons reporters seem unwilling to let her move on with her life. Na Moo was become a police officer because wants to try and make up for the damage that his father has done by saving more people's lives than his father has killed. Na Moo ends up facing quite a bit of backlash from the victims families and the public in general because they feel like he should be punished for his father's sins despite the fact that he is a big part of the reason that his father was caught in the first place and he is nothing like his father with how he wants to protect people rather than kill them. Throughout the series there is a question posed whether or not being a psychopath is genetic and whether Na Moo is like his father which he isn't but his father likes to think they're the same so other people who don't know Na Moo well questioned this.

Nak Won and Na Moo are separate for twelve years but end up meeting again as adults and it's clear right away that they still have feelings for each other but they don't get together right away because of the fear of public backlash which would accuse Nak Won of betraying her parents memory by loving the son of the man that killed them and for Na Moo they would think that he's shameless because not only is he daring to be happy after what his father did but he is with the daughter of one of his victims. At first Nak Won and Na Moo keep their distance Na Moo more so than Nak Won but then there seems to be someone who is copying Na Moo's father and is threatening Nak Won which leads to Na Moo being assigned her case and protecting her which leads them closer together and after awhile they decide to forget about everyone else and just try to be happy with each other.

This series also has sub plots about Na Moo's brother Yoon Hyun Moo who strangely idolizes his father at the start of the series and wants nothing more than for him to be proud of him which leads him down a dark path. Hyun Moo eventually starts to see that Na Moo as well as their step Mother and step sister truly care for him in the way a family should which makes him realize that he's wrong to put his faith in his father and instead wants to protect the rest of his family from his father. There's also subplot about Nak Won's adopted brother who is dealing with his own inter darkness while fearing  that Na Moo has it as well and wanting him to stay away from his sister.

Overall this was a fantastic series it was extremely written, acted and directed. This series was one that was really sad especially in the first half but in the end this series was about finding away to heal from your trauma and move on to live a better life in spite of it. Please tell me your about thoughts about this series in the comment section below.

Top 10 Kdramas I Watched in 2018

1. I'm Not a Robot: This series about a guy who has developed a psychosomatic allergy to other humans ends up investing in an extremely life-like robot in order to experience companionship but the robot ends up breaking before he gets to test it out so the girl who the robot is based on has to pretend to be a robot. Our two main characters end up becoming friends under these strange circumstances first and later fall in love with each other it's a very sweet and cute series but there are times when this series can be surprisingly sad as well.
2. Just Between Lovers: In this series our two leads were connected to each other because they were trapped together during a collapse of a shopping mall both our main characters are still dealing with PTSD related to that day although it presents itself in very different ways. Our two main characters end up falling in love and finding ways to over come their trauma together in ways that feel realistic but also optimistic.
3. Solomon's Perjury: This series is about a group of high schoolers who decided to investigate whether or not one of their fellow students killed themselves or if they were murdered, they decide to put on a trial in order to find the truth once it becomes clear that the school doesn't want to look further into the matter. This series does a good job of setting up the mystery and also showing us the many different sides to the important characters in the case which made this a great watch.
4. School 2017: This series that deals with the various issues of various students in one grade at one high school is one that I loved. I thought that most of the characters that were focused on were interesting and had good stories to be told and I liked seeing the various relationships that the students had with each other as well.
5. Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok Joo: This show centers around a female weightlifter who is trying to succeed in her dreams of become the best weightlifter but also wants to date and finds it hard reconcile those two parts of herself. I really loved the friends to lovers storyline that the two leads had which was very sweet and allowed the female lead to stay true to herself.
6. Hymn of Death: This drama was both beautifully and tragically romantic with this based on true events forbidden love story that you knew from the start would end in tragedy. The main characters were sympathetic despite the fact that they're relationship with each other is one that is frowned upon by most.
7. Fight My Way: This show was a really fun rom-com about two friends falling in love with each other after years of friendship and failed relationships with other people. This show along with being a good fun romance series also was about people going out and working on achieving their dreams even if it seems impossible for them since making money is more important than getting the job they actually like or if they feel like they're too far behind everyone else that are applying for the jobs they want because they either gave up on their dreams or couldn't afford to work unpaid internships, this aspect of the series was one that was really easy to relate to.
8. What's Wrong with Secretary Kim?: This was a very fun and sweet romance between a very talented secretary and her CEO boss where he did most of the chasing in the early part their relationship which was delightful to watch. I really liked how the characters end up having to figure out how their relationship would have to change once they started dating so that there wasn't too big of a power imbalance in their relationship as lovers. I had some issues with some things regarding a traumatic backstory but overall these issues didn't take much away from how much I loved this series as a whole.
9. Oh My Ghost:  This series was a fun and spooky romantic comedy about a girl who can see ghosts being possessed by a ghost who needs to have sex in order move onto the afterlife and she sets her sights on the other girl's crush/boss to be the one that she does it with. The series has an unconventional premise which makes the series fun and it also gives two female leads who end up working together to achieve what they want in a way that you wouldn't expect. This series can also get a bit dark at times when dealing with how one of are main girls died in the past.
10. The Innocent Man: This series is one that involves a lot of the main characters manipulating each other and playing mind games in order to get what they want which is something I always find is great fun to watch. I also really liked that this story is about revenge and that there is a relationship that starts out based on achieving that goal but then becomes genuine over time. I found that series had a little to much drama involving medical conditions in it's second half but overall really loved this series.

TV Review: The Innocent Man

                                                         The Innocent Man Review
The Innocent Man is about Kang Ma ru a promising young med student who grew up in poverty who ended up taking the fall for a murder that his girlfriend Han Jae hee committed in self defense because she told him that she couldn't bare to go back to the gutter after making herself into a successful reporter. Ma ru goes to prison in Jae hee's place assuming that she would wait for him and continue her career as a reporter but it turns out that Jae hee stops being a reporter soon after the murder and instead marries a CEO who is much older than her and has a child with the man. Years later after Ma ru has been out of prison for some time discovers that Jae hee not only didn't wait for him but has also stopped being a reporter decides that he will take his revenge on Jae hee by bring her back down to his level.

Ma ru decides that the best way to get under Jae hee's skin is to start a relationship with Jae hee's step daughter Seo Eun Gi who is around the same age as Ma ru and Jae hee so it's unsurprising that Eun gi doesn't like that her father left her mother for Jae hee. Eun gi is ambitious, cold and has a temper which are traits that can both help and hurt her while working in her father's company, she wishes to be the CEO once her father steps down but her father would rather her younger brother(who is currently only five) be the one that takes over for him since he believes that men make better leaders. Eun gi has a lot of resentment towards Jae hee even before she meets Ma ru which is why she agrees to date him even after it becomes clear that he has ulterior motives for why he approached her in the first place.

Eun gi eventually begins to fall for Ma ru as he starts to notice her hidden softer side which is something he uses to win her affections in order to get closer to her in order to mess with Jae hee but Eun gi's softer side also leads to Ma ru developing some feelings of his own that he won't admit to having. About halfway through the series a lot of dramatic things happen all at once there's some character death, injuries and a time jump which leads to the second half of the series mainly dealing with the fall out of what happens midway through the show.

Overall I really enjoyed this show, the story was one that was driven by revenge and filled with manipulation which is something that I find to be very enjoyable in a story even it did get a little too dramatic at times. I thought that the main characters were very well written and acted, I liked that the characters were more intriguing than likable for the most part. I really loved the music for the show, I felt like it suited the tone of the show perfectly. Please tell me your thoughts on this show in the comment section below.

Woo jin and Shim deok share a slow dance under the starry sky right before its implied that they kill themselves since unable to live without each other but also can't live with themselves if they abandon their families.

Overall I really enjoyed this drama it was a beautiful romantic and tragic story that was directed and acted beautifully. I really enjoyed seeing a drama that was set in this time period since I felt that the period this show was set in added a lot of drama to the story even though it wasn't really the focus of the story. TV Review: What's Wrong with Secretary Kim?

What's Wrong with Secretary Kim? Review
What's Wrong with Secretary Kim is about how Kim Mi so the hyper competent secretary to the workaholic slightly narcissistic vice chairman  Lee Young joon has decided to quit her job after working for Young joon for the last nine years since she has been able to have a life for herself while working for him since she always had to be on call in case he needed her. Young joon doesn't want Mi so to quit because he has come to depend on her both as a secretary and as someone he depends upon emotionally even though he is oblivious to this fact even while he's offering to marry her in a desperate attempt to prevent her from leaving him. Mi so agrees to stay at her job until she finishes training in her replacement and sees through an opening of an art center that they have been working on together, Young joon decides to use this time to convince her to stay at her job by offering her money, trying to be a better boss and offering to date her so that she wouldn't have to quit in order to start dating.

As the series goes on Young joon realize that the reason he's so desperate for Mi so to stay is because he has romantic feelings for her which leads to him trying woo her because he actually wants to date her and Mi so it seems also have feelings for him but she a little less sure of it a relationship between the two of them could work out. There's a plot thread through out the series that deals with Mi so trying to find a boy that was with her when she was kidnapped for a few days when she was really little who turns out to be Young joon but because of some family issues Young joon's family is pretending that his brother was the one that was kidnapped instead of him despite Young joon having both physical and emotional scars from ordeal where his brother does not. The lies about Young joon and his brother leads to Mi so and the brother briefly connecting and almost dating but in the end Mi so decides that Young joon is the one wants before she even figures out the truth behind the switch.

This series also has several other romantic subplots that revolve around other works at the company such as a relationship that develops between Mi so's replacement secretary Kim Ji a and one of the hardest workers in the company Go Gwi nam who pretends to be wealthier than he is which Ji a figures out and because of her keeping his secret the two become closer until they fall for each other. There's also the relationship between Bong Se ra and Yang Cheol which is very cute since they have contrasting personalities with Se ra being quite loud and attention grabbing and Cheol being quiet and more subtle in his affection.

Overall I really loved this series it was really sweet and cute the leads were great both together and a part and made a terrific couple. This series was a lot of fun to watch and I would recommend it to anyone who enjoys romcoms. Please tell me your thoughts on the series in the comment section below.

TV Reviw: Can We Get Married?

                                                Can We Get Married? Review
Can We Get Married is about Hye yoon and Jung hoon a young couple who have just gotten engaged and now have to deal with getting their approval for the marriage. At first Hye yoon's mother is very against the marriage because she wants Hye yoon to marry someone who is far more rich and successful because she doesn't want her daughter to be wanting for anything after she had to grow up without a father. Jung hoon's parents are supportive at first but after awhile Jung hoon's mom feels insulted by Hye yoon and her mother because Hye yoon and her family simply can't afford to spend as much on the wedding as she thinks they should be spending on the wedding which she takes to mean that they think lowly of her. Hye yoon and Jung hoon's mother's fighting end up bring up their own insecurities about themselves and their relationship with each other which leads to the two of them fighting and doubting whether or not they can actually handle getting married to each other.

There are a bunch of other subplots in the series about various other couples in the series who are connected to Hye yoon and Jung hoon in some way. The pairing that takes up the most screen time is Hye yoon's sister Hye jin and her husband Do hyun who are getting a divorce since he has been cheating on her for quite sometime. The whole plot with Hye jin is honestly kind of depressing to watch because Do hyun just treats her so badly and he is threatening to take away their son and her means to support herself simply because he can and I don't understand why the show spent so much time on this storyline. My favorite pairing in this series was Hye yoon's and Jung hoon's friends Dong bi and Ki joon who have been dating for five years but Ki joon refuses to marry Dong bi because he believes getting married would destroy their relationship but as the series goes on they end up finding a new understanding of each other and eventually changing views on marriage. The last couple is Hye yoon's aunt Deul rae and Min ho who are both older but end up falling in love with each other and the two of them are very cute together through out the series.

Overall this series was pretty good but there were also quite a few characters and storylines in this series that I found annoying or frustrating which keeps me from really recommending that anyone watch it but it really wasn't a bad series as a whole either. Please tell me your thoughts about this series in the comment section below.

TV Review: Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok Joo

Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok Joo Review
Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok joo is about a college student named Kim Bok joo who is the ace of the weightlifting department and her biggest dream is to win a gold medal in weightlifting. Bok joo is fine with not being seen as a woman by anyone at the start of the series since she only cares about fulfilling her weightlifting dreams until she meets a doctor named Jung Jae yi who she finds herself falling for at first sight and she then starts making excuses to spend time with him while hiding the fact that she is a weightlifter since she feels he couldn't see her as a woman if he knew about her weightlifting. Bok joo eventually discovers that Jae yi's brother is Jung Joon hyung who is swimmer who goes to the same college of her and used to go to elementary school, Joon hyung likes to seek out Bok joo to annoy her but also truly enjoys spending time with her and admires her for her weightlifting abilities. After Joon hyung finds out about Bok joo lying to his brother about who she really is, Bok joo swears him to secrecy.

Over the course of the series it becomes more and more obvious that Joon hyung likes Bok joo as more than a friend even though him and Bok joo seem to remain oblivious to this fact. As time goes on Bok joo realizes that Jae yi is never going to see her as a woman so she decides to give up on her one side love for him and Joon hyung helps her through this time by being there for her as a friend while she struggles with letting go of her feelings for Jae yi and about whether or not she truly loves weightlifting anymore since it was no longer bringing her happiness. In the end Bok joo returns to weightlifting and some time after Joon hyung confesses his feelings for her, she realizes that she also have feelings for him.

Overall I really enjoyed this drama the two leads where good characters that built a relationship that you couldn't help but to root for. I also really liked most of the supporting characters in this drama as well even though I didn't mention them above. I think this series is sweet and romantic which makes it a very fun watch. Please tell me your thoughts on this episode in the comment section below.

TV Review: Witch's Court

                                                          Witch's Court Review
Witch's Court is about Ma Yi deum an ambitious prosecutor who cares more about winning cases and getting media attention than she does about the victims of the crime that she is suppose to be fighting for. Early on in the series Yi deum ends up revealing that her boss indeed to harass a female reporter after she finds out that even if she covers up his crime she still won't get the promotion she wants so she ends up standing up for the reporter for entirely selfish reasons and than is reassigned to a special task force that deals with sex crimes. Yi deum is very upset to be transferred there because no one really moves higher up in the ranks after being assigned there so she starts off her time working there with a pretty bad attitude. While working there Yi deum ends up being partner up with Yeo Jin wook who is fairly new to being a prosecutor since he had previously worked as a psychologist which is one of the reasons that he cares about the victims of the crimes they investigate well being so much. Yi deum and Jin wook having such different views on what the job entails means that there partnership is off to a bit of a rough start but the two do end up learning from each other and end becoming very close and caring with each other.

The main on going plot of this series deals with how there is a politician named Jo Gab soo who has been committing sex crimes among other crimes for at least the past thirty years. One of Gab soo's victims happened to be Yi deum's mother who tried to submit evidence against him twenty years ago which led to her being kidnapped by him. Yi deum has been searching for her mother ever since she disappeared which is part of the reason she cares so much about getting media attention is because she hopes that her mother will see her on tv and come and find her. Since Yi deum has no idea about what happened between her mother and Gab soo she really doesn't even know where to start looking so it takes her awhile for the plot on how they try to find evidence of Gab soo's crimes and how they can take him down to really start but the ground work for it is laid out from the start.

Overall I enjoyed the show, I thought that cases were quite interesting and I liked the main characters although I really wished that they spent a bit more time on developing their relationship in the second half of the series because I feel like the show was a bit over taken by Gab soo who is a character who while necessary to the story isn't one that anyone really enjoys watching. Please tell me your thoughts on the series in the comment section below.

TV Review: School 2017

                                                           School 2017 Review
School 2017 like the other entries in the School franchise spends the series dealing with issues of a variety of students who are in the same class. Our main character in this series is Ra Eun ho a student who doesn't study well and has a tendency to get into trouble but is very good at drawing and is determined to achieve her dreams. At the school there is a mysterious figure called X who causes trouble for the school by playing pranks and revealing all the injustices that take place at school and one Eun ho stumbles upon X in the teacher's office and she ends up being accused of being X. Eun ho is tasked with the job of finding out who X is afterwards in order to clear her name but she ends up helping with X's plans instead since she believes he stands for justice.

Eun ho ends up developing a friendship with Hyun Tae woon who is the son of the Chairman of the school which allows him to get a way with things that other students wouldn't, he doesn't have good grades either and has a bit of rebellious attitude. At first Eun ho doesn't like Tae woon much but after she gets to know him better she learns that he isn't the person she assumed he was at first and the two of them end up becoming very close and partners in a way. After awhile Tae woon realizes that he has a crush on Eun ho so he confesses to her and while she takes awhile to realize her feelings she does accept his confession in the end.
Another character that receives a lot of focus in this series is Song Dae hwi who is the first ranked student in the class who comes from a poor background. Dae hwi feels like he has to spend a lot of time helping out Kim Hee chan a rich student that is ranked second in the class because he needs money in order to afford extra classes and counseling that are vital for getting into the top rated school that he needs to get into to succeed. Dae hwi spends a good part of the series feeling like he has to do things that he doesn't want to do for Hee chan because he believes that he needs him to succeed even though doing those things eat away at him. In the last part of the series Dae hwi is able to finally pull himself a way from Hee chan and to reconnect with an old friend and make new genuine friends which helps him to become a much happier person.

There is also a plot thread about how Tae woon and Dae hwi used to be very close friends but aren't anymore because of what happened surrounding the death of their best friend and how they didn't understand or approve of the other's actions around that time. This plot was clearly made to try and recapture the magic of Nam soon and Heung soo's relationship from School 2013 and while I really do enjoy the plot in this drama as well it still doesn't hold a candle to that relationship because there wasn't enough time devoted to Tae woon and Dae hwi's relationship and they just don't have the same amount of chemistry that Nam soon and Heung soo did. Even though it didn't compare to what came before it, I still did love the relationship and was happy to see the two reconcile and become friends again.

Another plot thread dealt with a quiet student named Seo Bo ra who feels like the deck is stacked against her so high that there isn't any point in fighting for herself when other students try to make them take the fall for her. Eun ho ends up reaching out to Bo ra and this helps her to find her voice again and to believe that she can fight for herself again now that she has a friend by her side.

Overall I really loved this series for all the different characters, stories and relationships that it had in it even the ones that I didn't mention in this review. There are so many things to love about this series that I think watching it is well worth your time. Please tell me your thoughts in the comment section below and what series in the School franchise is your favorite.

TV Review: Just Between Lovers

                                                       Just Between Lovers
Just Between Lovers is about how Ha Moon soo and Lee Gang doo who are survivors from when a mall collapse thirteen years before the series started and how they are still dealing with the trauma that comes from what happened that day in different ways. Moon soo doesn't remember anything about the accident since she lost her memories of that time due to a head injury but since her younger sister who was also at the mall died that day she is suffering from a lot of guilt and her sister's death ended up destroying her parents marriage and damaging her relationships with her parents in different ways. Gang doo who was the last person to be rescued from the mall collapse is haunted by memories of what happened since he was the down there for nearly a week and spent several days with a dead body which is why he still suffers from nightmares and hears voices in his head that tells him he doesn't deserve to live well. Gong doo also received a pretty bad leg injury from having a piece of rebar stuck through his leg which well he can walk is something that still gives him trouble to this day.

Moon soo who works building small models for architect ends up being asked to work for the company that is rebuilding on the sight of the mall collapse which is something that she is understandable weary to be apart of considering what she went through there. Gang doo who hears about the construction makes sure that he works on the site and ends up destroying the memorial at the site which he gets found out for doing by the architect but he isn't arrested for since the architect thinks it would be a good idea to have someone like Gang doo around so that he doesn't over look something and that ends up causing another accident to happen in the future. Moon soo and Gang doo end up running into each other around this time and Gang doo ends up recognizing her from that day which makes him interested in her but she doesn't remember him at all and at first finds him to be rude but after awhile starts to see him as a good person.

As time goes on Moon soo and Gang doo end up spending more time together and learning more about each other and finding that they like each other and that being together is somewhat healing for them. When things first seem like they are going well in their developing relationship Gang doo starts to pull away from Moon soo because he doesn't actually believe that he deserves good things and thinks he'll ruin her in the end so once she figures out what he's doing she has to work hard to convince him otherwise.

Overall this series was really good it had a great character driven story about the leads overcoming their past traumas by falling in love and putting the past behind them. There were also a ton of great supporting characters in this series as well who all had their own storylines that I found myself caring about as well. This series also had some great performances by the leads as well which made the already great writing even better. Please tell me your thoughts about this series in the comment section below.

TV Review: Nightmare Teacher

                                                    Nightmare Teacher Review
Nightmare Teacher is about how when a new teacher comes in to teach a high school class and starts convincing students that clearly desperately want something to come down to the counseling office to have private sessions with him. The teacher ends up using supernatural means to give the students exactly what they want whether it be to get back old friends, have as many chances as they need to win a fight, everything they write to become reality, the ability to absorb more knowledge better and more quickly or be even more pretty, and then tells the students that they can keep getting what they want as long s they sign a contract with him. The students end up violating the contract somehow or want out of the contract and then they end up trapped in their own nightmares.

The class president Kang Ye rim along with her maybe boyfriend Seo Sang woo start to notice that something is happening in there class once they start noticing odd things happening with their classmates and that there are empty desks in their classrooms. Over the course of the series Ye rim becomes more and more sure that something is making her classmates disappear and it has something to do with the new teacher and the counseling office, since everyone's memories are erased each time someone fails to complete their contract it takes most of the series for her to figure out what is happening to her classmates.

Overall I really liked this series, I enjoyed how each two episodes were centered on one character that we get to know really well pretty quickly and I liked seeing how things ended up unraveling very quickly in the second half of their stories. I enjoyed the concept of the series that dealt with characters getting exactly what they want and then once they get it they figure out that they didn't actually want it and that something else was really more important. Please tell me your thoughts on this series as well.

TV Review: Solomon's Perjury

Solomon's Perjury is about how after a student Lee So woo is found dead on school grounds after either falling or being pushed off the roof the school tries to cover up the his death as soon as possible in order to save the school reputation. A fellow classmate being found dead at school shortly after he was unjustly expelled by the school and a rushed investigation leaves the students with many questions that school doesn't just refuse to answer but refuses to ever allow the students even to ask them doesn't sit will with many students. Shortly after So woo's death Lee Joo ri, an unpopular girl who acts like a queen bee, writes a letter were she claims that she saw Woo hyuk along with two of his friends push So Woo off the roof on the night of his death. The majority of the school start to question whether So woo really committed suicide or if he was murdered since pretty much everyone believes Woo hyuk to be capable of such a thing. Seo yeon decides that the best way for them all to get the answers about what really happened to So woo would be hold a trial and she works hard to pull off the trial along with her friends and Han Ji hoon a mysterious boy from another school who decided to join their school trial as Woo hyuk defense counsel.

The trial has Seo yeon working as the prosecutor and Ji hoon as the defense attorney and it leads to many things that Seo yeon would never even guess being revealed as time goes on. Seo yeon has to deal with surprise after surprise during the trial and on top of that she not even confident that Joo ri's statement is even something that can be trusted and that's the only concrete evidence that she has. On the other hand Ji hoon is much more confident about Woo hyuk's innocence because it's clear to the audience that he knows much more about So woo's death than anyone else since they were best friends which is something he is keeping secret from the others, it becomes quite clear early on that Ji hoon as another a agenda for this trial and it's interesting watching it slowly become clear what it is.

I overall loved this series I thought that it had a really good plot and I thought that it's plot had a lot of intrigue to it which made the show very interesting to watch. This series is one that had pretty good characters that you become very interested in figuring out and invested in their emotional journey's as well. I really loved the tone that this series set with both the music and cinematography which were both really great. This series was really good and I would recommend checking this one out because it's a very underrated series. Please tell me your thoughts on this show in the comment section below.

TV Review: I'm Not a Robot

                                                     I'm Not a Robot Review
I'm not a Robot is about a man named Kim Min kyu who developed an allergy to humans shortly after his parents died and at the beginning of the series he gets a message from some scientist who tell him they have developed a robot that looks and should be able to act just like a real human. Min kyu decides to meet the scientist to check out their robot and after he sees how human-like the robot is and assures that it's really a robot he agrees to keep funding the scientists research if he the robot is able to brought over to his house for him to test out how well it works. Right before the scientists are suppose to bring their robot over to Min kyu's house one of the scientists end up damaging the report which leads to Hong Baek kyun, scientist that created the robot to go look for the woman he based the robot on, Jo Ji ah, his ex girlfriend. Ji ah is an inventor who seems to only manage to invent things that most people find useless which has led to her being in a lot of debt because she's always working on her inventions or starting up a new business to fund her inventions, since Ji ah really needs the money she ends up agreeing to pretend to be a robot when Min kyu does the test for it.

Ji ah is only really able to pull off pretending to be a robot because the scientists tell Min kyu that there is a function called friend mode after she first reacts in a way a robot wouldn't and they are all very surprised when he buys that excuse. Since Min kyu hasn't really had the chance to interact with people for the last fifteen years he ends up finding anytime Ji ah screws up acting like a robot to be delightful rather than suspicious and this ends up leading to him wanting to train the robot himself and since the robot is still going to take awhile to repair that means that Ji ah is going to have to continue to pretend to be a robot. As time goes on Min kyu and Ji ah end up actually developing a real friendship and Min kyu discovers that his allergy started to be cured when he was with Ji ah which only makes his affection for her grow even more.

Soon enough it becomes clear to both Ji ah and Min kyu that they have romantic feelings for each other and since it seems pretty clear at first that the feelings are mutual they are both very happy about this until they remember their situations. Min kyu realizes that he can't be in love with a robot because a robot can't ever really love you back because their just doing what their programs tell them to and Ji ah realizes that Min kyu thinks that she's a robot and that there really isn't a good way to tell him that she's been deceiving him for as long as she has been. It ends up taking quite a long time for Min kyu to figure out that Ji ah is not a robot and for them to actually get together.

Overall I really loved this series, I really loved both our main characters and I loved watching them interact with each other and I found them be extremely cute together. I was surprised by how emotionally invested this show ended up getting me because I actually found myself crying more than once and I also really liked that the show made me understand why Ji ah couldn't just tell Min kyu that she's not a robot which made the middle angsty section of the show much more compelling to watch. I also thought that this show looked really beautiful there were so many scenes in this show that just looked and felt so dreamy and romantic and the music also helped add to this atmosphere. Please tell me your thoughts on this series.

TV Review: Oh My Ghostess

                                                     Oh My Ghostess Review
Oh My Ghostess is about a Soon ae an outspoken ghost who can't move on to the afterlife because she died a virgin and therefore she has to find a way to settle her grudge by possessing someone and having sex with someone else. Soon ae started off the series unable to settle her grudge because she is only capable of having sex with someone who has a lot of negative energy. Meanwhile Na Bong sun is a timid assistant cook who can see ghosts who is having a hard time with most everything in her life because ghosts won't stop bothering her and one day Soon ae ends up possessing Bong sun's body and finds out that she is unable to get out of it. Soon ae of course there's to take advantage of being stuck in Bong sun's body and soon finds out that Bong sun's boss chef Kang Sun woo is a man that has a lot of negative energy so she sets her sights on him to be the one that will help her resolve her grudge.

After awhile Soon ae ends up being separated from Bong sun and she realizes that she has been possessed by a ghost and is frightened about how someone else was in her body and has changed her life quite a bit in the last few weeks which she has no memory of. At first Bong sun understandably wants nothing to do with Soon ae but after Soon ae finds out that Bong sun has had a crush on Sun woo for along time now Bong sun eventually makes a deal with Soon ae that she can possess her and settle her grudge and at the same time get Sun woo to fall for Bong sun. The plan works well enough in getting Sun woo to fall for Bong sun but Sun woo wants to wait to have sex with her to make it more special which while Bong sun finds sweet Soon ae doesn't really have time for.

This series also has a lot to do with Soon ae figuring out who she was when she was alive since she lost all her memories from when she was alive when she died and this leads to her looking out for her dad when she re-meets while possessing Bong sun. Soon ae also eventually ends up solving the mystery of how she died. Another thing I really loved about this series is that the events of the series cause Bung sun to grow more confident both as a person and as a chef as the series goes on and that was really beautiful to see.

Overall I really loved this series it was a unique series that was a lot of fun and I kind of liked that the series felt like it had to two female leads even though I felt like they should have balanced the two characters screen time better especially at the beginning of the series. I really liked the main couple and I was relieved that show was able to convince me that Sun woo was in love with Bung sun not just Soon ae possessing Bong sun and I feel like that was something that was probably a bit difficult to do. Please tell me your thoughts on this series in the comment section below.

TV Review: Reply 1997

                                                          Reply 1997 Review
Reply 1997 is about a group of teenagers growing up in 1997 and the characters are looking back on their high school years while they are at a high school reunion. The series centers around Sung Shi won who was a stalker fangirl for this Kpop group called HOT and she is so obsessively devoted to the group that most everything she does have to do with her love for the group. Shi won's childhood friend Yoon Yoon-je who is in love with her despite the two of them having very different personality with him being one of the top students in his class while Shi won is one of the worst in her class and he's quiet while Shi won is loud but the two are still close friends because they've known each other since forever.

For the most part the series is just about the characters growing up in the late 90's so there isn't much of a plot other than the characters growing up, Shi won's obsession with HOT and the characters relationships with each other and for the most part this series is able to be entertaining even with the simplicity of the plot. Some of my favorite other plots in this series is the plot about how Kang Joon hee who is a male classmate and friend who has a crush on Yoon je which he is very aware of the fact that his feelings are one side and not really that accepted so he keeps it quiet. Another a relationship I liked in the show was the relationship between Shi won's closest girl friend and fellow obsessive fangirl Mo Yoo jung and Do Hak chan a new transfer student that is seen as cool by the guys but is completely unable to talk to girls, the two of them get together fairly early in the series and while they break up and get together quite often and I really ended up liking the two of them together.

Overall I thought that this series was pretty good I liked the characters and I liked seeing them and their relationships develop over time. One thing I didn't like about this series is that the series tried to act like it was a mystery of who Shi won would end up with when it was pretty obvious to me who she was going to end up with from the start and I also thought that the guy who ended up being the second male lead feelings for her came from out of nowhere half through the series because as shocked as Yoon je was to learn that the other guy had feelings for Shi won. Please tell me your thoughts on this series in the comment section below.

TV Review: Fight My Way

                                                        Fight My Way Review
Fight My Way is about childhood friends Go Dong man and Choi Ae ra who both start off the series with working dead end jobs while they had put their true dreams on hold. Ae ra had grown up wanting to be an announcer but she had put down pursuing that dream on hold because earning money was more important than getting her dream job which now seems out of reach because she's not as young or experienced as the other girls that are trying out for the announcer position. While Dong man has been avoiding pursuing his dream of being a taekwondo fighter because of an incident that he was involved years ago that caused him so much shame that he's given up on martial arts completely because he no longer believes he deserves to pursue his dream. Eventually both Ae ra and Dong man decided to pursue their dreams despite the doubts that they are both feeling about whether or not they will come true.

As the show goes on it becomes clear to both Dong man and Ae ra have feelings for each other but since they have been friends for the majority of their lives neither one of them knows what to do with their new feelings for each other. It seems that Ae ra has been somewhat aware that she has romantic feelings for Dong man despite not knowing what to do with that while these feelings are new for Dong man and he has no idea what they mean which leads him to being confused and awkward about he feels. As time goes on Dong man and Ae ra figure out their feelings and decide to take a chance on a romantic relationship with each other and their relationship is a joy to watch.

One of the subplots in the series deal with Ae ra and Dong man's friends Baek Seol hee and Kim Joo man who have been dating for years but are still hiding their relationship at work which is something that makes Seol hee feel insecure especially when one of Joo man's new co works start flirting with him even though he keeps turning her down he still doesn't tell her that he isn't single which cause Seol hee to worry. As time goes on it becomes clear that while Seol hee is fine with the way things have been between the two of them even if they don't have a lot of money that Joo man is unhappy with where he is in life because he feels that Seol hee deserves better than what he can give her and he feels like she sacrifice too much for his benefit which causes even more of a rift in their relationship.

Overall I really liked this series, I really enjoyed the characters and I felt like they were pretty realistic and relatable which is something I really enjoyed. I thought that the relationship between the leads was really great and I thought that the relationship between the secondary couple was complicated in way that overall enjoyed even if it was far from perfect. Please tell me your thoughts on this show in the comment section below.

Top 10 Kdramas I Watched in 2017

1. W: Two Worlds: This series is one that dealt with a very creative idea with having one of our leads be a comic book character that discovers that is a fictional character and this leads to quite a few philosophical questions about what it really means to be human and it also I allowed for the plot at least whenever it was in the comic book world to be dictated by story logic rather than real world logic which was a lot of fun. The story also had a very sweet romance at the center of it and it was also a thriller that ended up having a villain that was almost completely unstoppable since he lacked an identity. This show had lots of twists and turns through out and also had characters that I loved rooting for which makes this series one that is very hard to top.
2. While You Were Sleeping: This series is one that deals with the idea of if you can see the future would you actually be able to change the future for the better and if you can't than how will you deal with that. This drama is one that I really ended up loving because of it's characters they were just so well written that I felt like they felt like real people and I really ended up adoring the lead couple because of how well they suited each other and worked together.
3. Because This is My First Life: This series was a really fun one that dealt with our leads finding themselves accidently living together and eventually deciding that getting fake married was the most logical solution to their current problems. I really loved the characters in this drama they were well fleshed out and a bit quirky and I loved seeing them and their relationship develop through out the series.
4. Dream High: This series is a heartwarming story about high schoolers pursuing their dreams to make it in the Kpop industry. This series is one that had a lot of heart to it and really loved that we focused on a group of characters rather than just one or two and I ended up loving them all and enjoying their growth as individuals as well as their relationship development. I also really loved the soundtrack for this series.
5. School 2013: This is a series that dealt with the daily struggles of high school students and teachers and I really loved how this series did such a good job of making you invested in all the characters and making you understand things differently depending on which characters point of view you were viewing the situation from. I really loved how this series was able to make everyday problems feel so high stacks because of how much they matter to the characters.
6. White Christmas: This series is a great psychological thriller and character study that asked interesting questions about humanity. I really loved the mood and atmosphere that series had and I really loved how the series constantly used the threat of violence rather than actually violence to raise the stacks in any given situation.
7. Suspicious Partner: This series was one that was a lot of fun it was romantic comedy that also had a murder mystery and legal drama aspects to it which worked pretty well together in this series. This series had good characters I really enjoyed watching and I found myself invested in it's story for the majority of the series.
8. Cheese in the Trap: This series that dealt with the college life of a girl just finishing up college was one that I found myself relating to and investing in a lot because of how well written the characters were and like School 2013 I felt that this series also did a good job of making the everyday stuff feel high stacks.
9. Witch's Romance: This is a delightful romantic comedy that had great leading characters that worked so very well together and it is honestly one of the series that I find the most fun and romantic to watch.
10. Marriage Not Dating: This series is a hilarious romantic comedy that involves fake dating and surprising amount of character depth and growth as well as being series that can be quite heartwarming at times as well.

TV Review: Heartstrings

                                                          Heartstrings Review
Heartstrings is about a girl named Lee Gyu-won a traditional music who goes to a performing arts college and she ends up challenging Lee Shin a popular male student who is lead singer and guitarist of a band that is very popular at their school especially among the female students. Gyu-won thinks that Shin is a jerk because he's overly harsh when he rejects girls and can come across as quite arrogant when it comes to his music but after the two of them actually have to spend time together they both do end up developing feelings for each other as they get a better understanding of each other as people.

Another one of the main plots of the series revolve around the 100th anniversary performance that the school is having and pretty much all the important characters are working on the show in one way or another. Gyu-won ends up in the running to play the female lead despite having no experience in acting or dancing and very little experience in actual singing which is something that upsets a lot of her fellow students but since the director of the 100th anniversary performance is oddly fixated on Gyu-won she's in the running for the role despite lacking the skills and experience that such a role would require.

One of the students that wants to be the female lead the most is Han Hee-joo who is an extremely hardworking student who has been working on dancing, acting and singing through out her time at the school and is the daughter of the head of school who most people don't like since she's often mean to her classmates because she doesn't want to appear weak in front of them. Another subplot in this series is about how a nerdy drummer named Yeo Joon-hee ends up falling in love with Hee-joo basically at first sight and she ends up falling for him as well because of how he's kind to her and always there for her even after she tells him to go away.

Overall I liked this series a lot I liked the lead characters and most of the supporting characters expect for the director and Gyu-won's grandpa, and I was happily surprised by how well Gyu-won and Shin worked as a couple once they got together and I found them to be very sweet together. I thought that the music in this series was good but since there was a limited amount of songs I felt like the music could become a bit repetitive at times but still enjoyable. Please tell me your thoughts on this series.

TV Review: Because This is My First Life

Because This is My First Life Review
Because This is My First Life is about Yoon Ji ho a thirty year old who is still working as an assistant drama writer who finds herself forced out of the apartment that she shares with her brother that has paid the down payment for when she discovers that he has gotten married to girl who he got pregnant during the time Ji ho was off working on the last drama she was helping to write. Around the same time Nam See hee a man who likes his life to be as uneventfully as possible and seems to care about maintaining a sense of order and his cat above all else, has had to kick out his most recent tenant because said tenant not only didn't take care of the recycling and feeding his cat when he worked late like was agreed upon when the tenant moved in but he also caused some property damaged after coming home drunk. It ends up that Ji hoo needs to find a new place to live but discovers that pretty much anywhere that she can afford to live is not really somewhere one should live so she ends up moving in Se hee's apartment without her knowing that she moved in with a guy and Se hee is also unaware that his new roommate is a girl but despite going about a week living together without meeting each other he thinks Ji hoo is the best tenant he has ever had and she quite fond of him as well as landlord both because of the affordable price for the room and because of how nice the apartment is.

After Ji hoo and Se hee realize that they are living with each other they at first find it awkward but after awhile they decide that since it's unlikely they would have romantic feelings for each other it's okay that they live together and that goes well for awhile until Se hee's mother discovers that her son's roommate is a woman and while ee hee is fine with just ignoring his mother's feelings on the subject Ji hoo isn't so she moves out. Later on something happens in the place that Ji hoo is staying that makes her feel unsafe there and so she ends up back at Se hee's apartment again and shortly after that the two decide to set up a contract marriage and well as time goes on the line between being fake married and just being married starts to blur.

The subplots in the series have to do with how one of Ji hoo's closest friend Yang Ho rang wants nothing more than to get married to Sim Won seok ,her boyfriend of seven years while he wasn't even thinking about marriage even though he does love her and wants to be with her forever. The two of them have very different expectations for their relationship and they spend the series figuring out whether or not their love for each other means more to them than having the futures that they picture themselves having even if they aren't with each other. The other main subplot is about the unusual relationship between independent business woman Woo Su ji  and dorky Ma Sang goo who at first seem to be mostly about they hooked up one time in the past and Su ji doesn't remember it while Sang goo does and therefore he wants to hook up with her again to leave a more lasting impression but after Su ji tells Sang goo that she has never dated anyone despite having hooked up with many men he starts to look at her differently and this leads to him wanting be therefore as someone who supports and cares for her in a way that no one has before. I ended up likely the relationship between Su ji and Sang goo much more than I thought I would mainly because of the shift that happened in the relationship early on that changed what the relationship was about and turned it into something unexpectedly sweet.
Overall I really love this series it had a cast of great characters that I couldn't help but invest myself in and I really loved all the relationships in this series and not just the romantic ones(although those were great) but also the platonic ones, my favorite of those was the friendship between Ji hoo, Ho rang and Su ji. This series had a lot of good things to say both about relationships and finding your place in the world and at the same time it was a lot of fun to watch as well. Please tell me your thoughts on this series in the comment section below.
