Top 10 Characters that own my heart

By own my heart I pretty much mean that there character just spoke to me a lot and am very attached to them and for one reason or another their very important to me so I hate seeing hate about them more than I usually do for characters I love. This list is one that includes characters that are very important to me but might not make on my all time favorite character list although some do so I'm taking the chance to talk about them now.
1. Laura Wingfield(The Glass Menagerie): Laura is very important to me because she's the fictional character that I relate to the most she incredibly shy to the point that it effects her life negatively because interacting is far too nerve wracking for her so she shies away from it and therefore she shies away from just about everyone and everything. I also love how she prefers to make up a fantasy world than deal with the real one which is another thing I relate to her with.
2. Sansa Stark(A Song of Ice and Fire): I love Sansa because she is someone I understand and feel for so much and I never expected to have a character like her in a series like this. I love Sansa because she is actually what a lady of her time is suppose to be and she tries to live up to all the lessons she has been taught and all she wants out of life is for it to be nice and pretty like the way it is in songs she was raised on. But sadly Sansa has to see every ideal that she was raised be destroyed in the cruelest way possible and she has to adapt to an environment where she knows that one wrong word can get her killed and she learns fast and she learns well how to play the game and uses her courtesies the very thing that she is mocked for believing she uses not only to survive but also she saved a man's life with it. I love that Sansa still believes that people are generally good even though she has seen so many terrible things and met so many terrible people she doesn't give up on kindness like almost everyone else would and I can't help but admire her for that.
3. Charlie(Perks of Being a Wallflower): Charlie is a character that I love because I just love the way that he thinks with him always wanting the best for everyone even if they aren't someone he knows or someone who is mean to him and that's something I don't see often enough. I love that he loves to read and he writes the letters the story that make up the novel because he needs to someone to just listen and I love that he's a bit damage as well.
4. Tohru Honda(Fruits Basket): I love Tohru because she is just so incredibly kind she can find good in absolutely everyone and she tells them what she sees about them that makes them good and that's really important in this series because so many characters hate themselves and her acceptance of them helps them start their paths to recovery. I love that she has such a big heart and I love that she has trouble with crying for herself or mentioning when things are wrong with her because she doesn't want trouble anyone. I love that she's a bit of a ditz as well and she's pretty girly as well, I really just love everything about her character and I wish that I was more like her because more people should be as kind and accepting as she is.
5. Sakura Kinomoto(Cardcaptor Sakura): Sakura is another kindhearted heroine I love and I love her for being very friendly and optimistic. Sakura is someone who I think is a pretty good representation of a really likable ten year old and I like that she acts her age it's part of her charm. I also like that Sakura is pretty good improvising and thinking about things in a new way which is what leads her to become the new cardmistress. I always love how she treats everyone as a friend even if they try to become rivals with her she's just like no we're friends and they eventually becomes friends I just think it's nice.
6. Caroline Forbes(Vampire Diaries TV): I love Caroline because she's a bit of a control freak, can be a mean girl, started off the series feeling very insecure because she was always consider second best compared to Elena, she's optimistic, she's a really good friend and she cares so much about everyone. I loved Caroline since episode one and I haven't really stopped although I have stopped watching the show, I loved human Caroline where she came off looking bad more often than not because she was always trying so hard because everyone around her made her feel like she wasn't good enough so she spent her time trying to prove them wrong. Later on Caroline became a vampire and she became physically strong and she started to gain self confidence and the people around her started to notice her positive qualities rather than her negative ones and this made her not have to try quite as hard all the time although she can still be a bit of control freak like when she's planning an event. I love Caroline both for who she started out the series as and the person that she became later on.
7. Stiles(Teen Wolf): I don't think I've ever wrote about why I love him as a character before so I might not explain why I love him in a way that makes a lot of sense but I'm going to try. I'll start off with the reasons that pretty much everyone loves first I love that he's sarcastic and that he's a really loyal friend with how he never once thought of abandoning Scott during all the werewolf stuff because he could never leave Scott even though the supernatural world is really dangerous and he has a choice if he wants to be part of it but really if Scott's part of it Stiles is part of it. I love he's human and that he's still useful in the story I love the way that they handle him being a regular human in that they don't make him someone that has to be saved all the time just that he doesn't have special abilities like most everyone else and that not being able to do those kind of things make him feel defenseless sometimes but doesn't mean that he'll ever back down to a villain or even let them know how scared he is. I love that he does a pretty good job as a detective/investigator type and is able to figure out most things, I like that he's smart even though he may not come off that way at first because he tends to ramble and talk without thinking first. I love that he's pretty awkward in a lot of ways and I love that there's really only a small group of people he's close to and he would do anything for them. I love that he always says he's fine and he never is this trait worries me as well but I'm always interested in characters who no matter how much trauma they go through insist that they're fine or not important and he is one of those characters that is like that, I like he worries all the time about the safety of his love ones but think it's ridicules if they worry about him even when they have good reason to. This is getting a bit long and I could say a bit more but I feel I shouldn't here.
8. Lydia Martin(Teen Wolf): I love Lydia because she was first represent as this mean popular girl but she has grown a lot over the course of the series and there's a lot more layers to her than I originally thought there was. I love that Lydia's a secret genius and I love that as time goes on she realizes she doesn't have to hide her intelligence. I love that she is highly fashionable and highly intelligent because I feel that those traits don't mix often enough in fiction. I love that since she's been introduced to the supernatural world she has been able to figure out ways to help and helped saved people better than anyone could ever expected. I love that Lydia decided that she was going to embrace her abilities that she didn't understand in hopes of being able to something to save people rather than just find their bodies. I love that she is much more compassionate than anyone would have suspected and I like that we get to see her good side now more than her bad side and that she seems to care less about being the person people expect her to be now is just herself.
9. Scott McCall(Teen Wolf): I love Scott because he's just the sweetest guy and he's totally adorable but most of all I love that he's heroic. I love that Scott always wants to save everyone no matter what and that he thinks that killing someone is never an answer to a problem and that he always does everything he can to find another more peaceful solution to the problem. I love that Scott cares about people that other's people's happiness is more important than his own and how he'll do whatever he can to help someone out whether they're a friend or a strange. I love that collateral damage is unacceptable to Scott because it's so rare to see a character to care about the nameless victims but Scott cares and makes me love him more. I love that Scott admits that he almost never knows what's he's doing but he's always trying to do the right thing.
10. Alison Argent(Teen Wolf): I love Alison because she wants so badly to prove to herself that she's strong and she is and she can most definitely take care of herself. I like that while Alison is a very good fighter she still feels very much like a teenage girl and she has moments of vulnerability that she way too hard on herself about. I love that Alison found a way to save her friends and I love that she changed her family code to one that wasn't about killing so much as it was about protecting the innocent which is what being hunter is suppose to stand for and I love that Alison proceed to live by that code.

Top 10 Secondary Characters

1. Rin Sohma(Fruits Basket): I really love Rin because she isn't exactly a person who it's easy to approach and I like that exudes this kind of harsh attitude to keep people away from her and to make sure no one gets close enough to her to know her. I really love Rin more has her backstory is revealed I love that she's broken with how she dislikes being around kind people because she feels that she clings to them and she feels that they deserve better than but no matter how hard she tries to fight that impulse to cling to those kind of people there are times she can't help but to breakdown. I love that even though she doesn't show it in an easy to read fashion she cares deeply for those she loves with how she worked so hard to find away to break the curse so that Haru could be free of it.
2. Laura Wingfield(The Glass Menagerie): I love Laura because there's no character that I relate to more than her and that means a lot to me because people don't usually write characters like Laura. I love Laura because she's a person who is ruled by her social anxiety and doesn't like any kind of conflict. I love Laura because she can't seem to handle living in the real world therefore she makes her own world with her menagerie.
3. Nico Di Angelo(Percy Jackson and the Olympians): I really love Nico because he changes so much through out the series and I really loved all of the stages he goes through. I loved the adorable little boy who was obsessed with a card game and I love the boy who was filled with grief and anger and desperately trying to bring his sister back to life. I loved that he became a pretty powerful character and that while due to being the son of Hades he was somewhat dark he was also an ally to Percy in the last book of the series.
4. Momiji Sohma(Fruits Basket): I love Momiji for his cheerful optimistic personality which had remained intact despite the fact that due to the curse his mother chose to forget about his existence and because of this he has to watch his family from afar. I loved that while Momiji has a heartbreaking past he can still look on the bright side of things and I love that he wants to be strong enough to keep all of his memories because he believes a person needs all of their memories whether they'd be good or bad.
5. Rachel Elizabeth Dare(Percy Jackson and the Olympians): I just really loved Rachel because I remember really liking her personality and  I liked that she was a normal human that could see through the mist and I liked that she took the whole existence of gods pretty well. I know there's more reasons I love her but it's been awhile since I read the books.
6. Jenna(Perfect): I love Jenna because she's such a mystery, she's a character that we really don't know much about and the reasons behind her actions are almost a complete mystery. I love that she has a self destructive drinking habit and I love that she seems to know exactly how to get people do what she wants them to without giving any part of herself away. I would love to read a book from her point of view because she fascinates me.
7. Machi Kuragi(Fruits Basket): I really loved Machi because she was a character that tried so hard to live up to other people expectations of perfection that when they decided that they didn't need her anymore she just became kind of at a loss with what to do with herself. I loved that she didn't know what kind of things she liked and didn't like because for the majority of her life she always trying to please other people so she never thought of what she wanted or liked. I love that now after years of trying to be perfect she can't stand to see anything perfect like freshly fallen snow or an extremely clean classroom and that she feels the need to destroy that perfection. I love that she eventually does develop things that she likes and that she does get to feel that she matters to someone even though she's far from perfect.
8. Zoe Nightshade(Percy Jackson and the Olympians): I just really loved that Zoe was this fierce warrior and that she did grow quite a bit over the course of the one book that she appeared in. I also really loved how Zoe went on the quest knowing that she would die and did so with such dignity.
9. Faye Chamberlin(Secret Circle): I just really love that Faye is a bitchy mean girl who has magic powers and uses those powers in the exact way you'd expect that kind of person to use them. I also love that she has vampire kittens although I think there just called that and aren't actually vampires like Diana's hair isn't actually sliver but is described that way.
10. Luna Lovegood(Harry Potter): I love Luna because she sees the world very differently and speaks rather oddly, I like that she comes off a bit crazy and I just really love her as a character even though she doesn't show up until the 5th book.

Top 7 Bookish memories

1. Reading Harry Potter: I remember when I was little that my dad use to read the Harry Potter books to me and my brother and I always really love them. Later on after the books became longer I started reading the series by myself and I still love the books.
2. Reading A Series of Unfortunate Events: This is another book series that I had read to me when I was little and it's also one that I have yet to finish so far I'm only part way through the tenth book but I do plan to finish series one day.
3. Reading Fruits Basket: I love this series it's my absolute favorite series and I remember the days not to long ago when I started reading the series and I started to buy the books to volumes at a time and how I'd read both volumes within a day of buying them. I also have extremely fond memories of the second time I read the series and notice all the foreshadowing.
4. Reading, Reading in the Dark: I loved this book even though not too many people have read this book but this book just grabbed me and it's the reason I read this book pretty much once a year. Also I just really love the line about about the narrator's mother turning him on and turning him off, it makes sense in context but the context is filled with spoilers.
5. Reading the line "All she wanted was for things to nice and pretty the way they were in songs.": This line in Game of Thrones is the line that made me decide that Sansa will always be one of my favorite characters and it's the line that pretty much define her character for me and it's also a pretty tragic line considering what happens to her throughout the series.
6. Getting my first comment on this blog: My first comment on my blog was very exciting for me since I had to wait months to get it therefore it was extremely special for me it happened in August of 2011 and it was on a top 10 Tuesday list and it made me happy because it proved to me that someone actually reads my blog.
7. Reading The Glass Menagerie: The Glass Menagerie was a really important read for me because of how much I related to Laura Wingfield and since I almost never fully relate to characters I have a special love for her and the play in general.

30 Days of Female Characters: Day 13: Favorite female character in a book

Day 13: Favorite female character in a book: Laura Wingfield(The Glass Menagerie)
I love Laura because I relate to her the most out of any character I've ever encountered. I love Laura because she's painfully shy and thinks that little things to other people are a big deal which makes it hard for her to do just about anything. I also love how she escapes from the real world by creating her own world with her menagerie.

30 Days of Books Challenge: Day 25: A Character you can relate to the most

Day 25: A Character you can relate to the most: Laura Wingfield from The Glass Menagerie
I relate to Laura because we are both painful shy and tend to think that mildly embarrassing things that no one else even notices are big deal. I also relate to her desire to make a world of her own rather than to face the real one. I also relate to how Laura likes to avoid conflict and will keep things from someone in order to avoid a fight or scolding even when I know that the other person will find out about it sooner or later.

30 Days of Books Challenge: Day 16: Favorite Female Character

Day 16: Favorite Female Character: Laura Wingfield from The Glass Menagerie
I love Laura for being one of the few characters in fiction that I can actually relate to. I love that she shy, dislikes confrontations and is easily embarrassed to the point that she makes things that are nothing seem like a huge deal to her. I like that she would rather create the world of her menagerie and live in that world then to face the really one because she finds the one much too frightening.

Top 5 Book Characters I relate to

1. Laura Wingfield(The Glass Menagerie): I related to Laura because she's very shy and timid which causes her a lot of problems with connecting the outside world which is something that I can relate to very easily. I also relate to her because she likes to escape into her own make believe world which I also love to do. I also relate to her because when something slightly embarrassing happens to be me I think it's a really big deal but in reality no one even notice. I also have no real experience with boys and neither does Laura.
2. Hikage Sumino( I am Here): She's extremely shy and has a blog, I'm also extremely shy and have a blog.
3. Sansa Stark(Game of Thrones): I relate to Sansa because we both just want life to be a nice and pretty fairytale which I know it's not but I still wish it was. I also relate to her because I've had crushes on guys who were actually jerks and all my friends told me the guy was a jerk but ignored them because he was cute but eventually learned the truth, even though my experience was a lot less painful than Sansa's I completely understand the way she felt. I also relate to her because if I was in a situation were I was basically held captive I would do everything I could to please them in hopes that they'd let me go. I also relate to her with a few more little things such as I also enjoy watching medieval sports, I also look to say something nice to someone when there's an awkward silence and I prefer the warm to the cold.
4. Chloe Saunders(The Darkest Powers series): I relate to her because she thinks of things as if she were in a movie which I tend to do as well. She also wants to work in the movie industry as well which I would like to do as well although she wants to be a director and I want to be a writer so it's a bit different.
5. Lena Kaligaris(The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants): I relate to her because were both shy and at the beginning of the series she didn't really have experience with boys which I don't have either. I also like art as well but I'm not as good at as she is.

Top 10 Book Characters

1. Charlie(Perks of Being a Wallflower): He just has this way of thinking that comes off as sweet, innocent and yet wise. I just love that he truly wants everyone to be happy and that he doesn't like to place blame on someone when something bad happens. I also like that he also struggles with some form of depression at times because it gives him more depth and the thoughts that come out when he's in this condition are some of my favorites. I also like that he's a bit of an outcast and that he has a tendency to over think things. I love Charlie mainly for the way he thinks which is why he's also my favorite narrator.
2. Percy Jackson(The Percy Jackson and the Olympians series): I love Percy for basically having all of the qualities of a good hero, being brave, his family and friends safety are the most important thing to him and he's generally a nice person. I also like that while he has the qualities of the hero he also very much a teenager as well with how he makes mistakes and doesn't always think things through. I also love that he has this sarcastic sense of humor that really comes across while reading his thoughts through the narration.
3. Nico Di Angelo(The Percy Jackson and the Olympians series): Nico is pretty much tied with Percy but Percy got ranked higher because he's the main character. I've loved Nico since I first met him in The Titan's Curse as an adorable boy who is obsessed with this card game but is personality changes quite a bit in through out the series. I loved him in the The Battle of the Labyrinth when he was trying to bring his sister back from the dead and hanging out with this ghost guy. I loved him of course in the final book as well and I like that in the last two books that Percy mentions that even though Nico is younger than him he kind of scares him probably due to him being the son of Hades.
4. Laura Wingfield(The Glass Menagerie): I love Laura for being one of the few fictional characters that I can actually say that I relate to. I love her for being this painfully shy girl that rather play with her menagerie and create her own imaginary world than face the really one.
5. Luna Lovegood(The Harry Potter series): I love her for being delightfully crazy and I just get really excited anytime she shows up. I also like that she's a Ravenclaw.
6. Alice(Alice in Wonderland/Through the Looking Glass): I love Alice because she sees the world differently the most people and I love the way she takes everything that happens in Wonderland like well it's a little bit odd but I guess that's just how things are here.
7. Tony(Impulse): I love him because he had quite a bit of depth and I loved the way he narrated things. I also like that he thought things could get better and I like that he seemed to be very friendly.
8. Connor(Impulse): I loved the way he narrated and I thought his story was interesting. I also liked that it kind of seemed like there was not really any hope for him that things would get better once he goes home. I don't really know how to explain why I love him at the moment.
9. Ginger(Tricks): I love Ginger because she seems to have a good head on her shoulders and I love that she knows were to draw the line. I also like how she loves and takes care of her younger siblings and I love that even though she's had a hard life she doesn't turn to drugs or alcohol for comfort.
10. Faye Chamberlin(The Secret Circle series): I love her being the most entertaining kind of bitch there is and I also love that she's a witch on top of it. I love the way it's described that she looks and how she has this rebellious nature. I also love the way she's introduced by reading a poem and than lighting it on fire in the middle of class. I love her in both the books and the TV show although she's quite different in the show.
