Anime Review: Hakushaku to Yousei: A Banshee's Memories(1.09)

                         Hakushaku to Yousei: A Banshee's Memories(1.09)Review
In this episode Paul goes after the Banshee who taken by a selkie who led her to a man named Ulysses who claims to be the blue knight earl and the banshee believes his claims because he is of some relation to her old master Lady Gladys. Ulysses is one of the princes men and is after the banshee's amber tears and if he finds those tears he might be able to become powerful as the blue knight earl.

Ermine is the selkie which was helping out Ulysses and Ermine may be Raven's sister who everyone believed to be dead for some time now. Lydia goes over to Edgar's home because she was worried about him but after she found him somewhat drunk she regretted worrying about him although I think it's worth mentioning that Edgar says that he almost gave up on Lydia in this scene but was glad that he didn't.

While I overall enjoyed this episode I also felt that not much happened in this episode but rather that it was hinting at that something may happen soon. Please tell me your thoughts on this episode.

Anime Review: Hakushaku to Yousei: Tell me the Secret of your Tears(1.08)

Hakushaku to Yousei: Tell me the Secret of your Tears(1.08)Review
In this episode Lydia is still in doubt about her engagement with Edgar meaning anything more than an arrangement between the two of them which will allow her to stay in the human world but Edgar clearly wishes for it to be a real engagement. A fairy ends up putting the ring on Lydia's finger and she is told that only Edgar can remove it for most of the episode Edgar leaves it on Lydia's finger. There's a nice moment between Edgar and Lydia were Edgar hugs her and Lydia seems to enjoy it.

Also in this episode Paul encounters a banshee that is from one hundred years ago and it's believed that she may need to be protected. The banshee is crying tears of amber which means that there will soon be a death in her clan. Lydia ends up figuring out the reason behind her tears so Lydia tells Edgar to focus on keeping everyone safe but Edgar points out that Lydia isn't sure that she wants to stay by his side so he feels he must learn to figure out these things himself and since he sees that Lydia is unsure he takes the ring out for her.

I overall really enjoyed this episode and I think that it may have brought Edgar and Lydia a bit closer and I'm interested in the mystery of the banshee as well. Please tell me your thoughts on this episode.

Anime Review: Hakushaku to Yousei: Please Go Easy When You Propose(1.07)

Hakushaku to Yousei: Please Go Easy When You Propose(1.07)Review
In this episode Lydia goes to Kelpie in order to get him to give her what she needs to save Edgar but Kelpie will only agree to help her if she agrees to live in the fairy world with him. Lydia then goes to save Edgar and she leaves for the fairy world without telling Edgar. After Edgar found out that Lydia went to the fairy world because of the deal she made to save his life Edgar then leads the Fairy queen's fairies that he'd agree to marry her in order to get them to take him to the fairy world.

Once Edgar arrives in the fairy world he tells Lydia that he wishes that she would come back with him to the human world and even mentions how her father misses her in order to convince her to come with him. Edgar also proposes to Lydia and Lydia accepts the proposal only because she wishes to return to the human world because there were things she still had to do there and Edgar had said that engagements between humans can be broken at any time. Once back in the human world Edgar denies saying that their engagement can be broken and insist on treating it as a real one.

I overall really enjoyed this episode and I continue to love that Edgar keeps basically confessing his love to Lydia and Lydia continues to believe he's joking even though he is serious and just as an odd way of showing it sometimes. Please tell me your thoughts on this episode.

Anime Review: Hakushaku To Yousei: White Bow, Scarlet Bow(1.06)

Hakushaku To Yousei: White Bow, Scarlet Bow(1.06)Review
In this episode there's more talk of the ring made of the moon that had gotten stuck on Paul's finger last week and Kelpie wanted to give that ring to Lydia. Two fairies who work for the Fairy Queen wanted to have whoever was wearing the ring marry the queen but Lydia put a stop to that. Edgar and Raven also investigate the death threats that were sent to Edgar last episode and it's discovered that the organization that are sending the threats are called the Scarlet Moon and believe that Edgar is an impostor.

In this episode it's also proven that Paul knew Edgar when he was young, before his family died and he changed his name. Paul is shown to before working for the Scarlet Moon organization but once his sure of who Edgar really is he stops his attempt on Edgar's life only for another mysterious figure to stab him with a blade that has a rare poison on it.

Another big part of this episode was the relationship between Edgar and Lydia with Edgar pretty much confessing that he's in love with Lydia. Lydia repeatedly saying that it would be bad if they had feelings for each other and that she doesn't believe him or trust him because he's still keeping secrets from her. Edgar says that he believes Lydia is just afraid of falling in love which Lydia denies. Although denies to have romantic feelings for Edgar she thinks at one point that she wishes she could keep Edgar safe and at the end of the episode she vows to save him.

I overall really enjoyed this episode I thought there was a good amount of both plot and relationship development. I also really liked the scene were Kelpie gave Lydia a chick, I don't really know why. Please tell me your thoughts on this episode.

Anime Review: Hakushaku To Yousei: The Fairy's Queen Bridegroom(1.05)

Hakushaku To Yousei: The Fairy's Queen Bridegroom(1.05)Review
In this episode a fairy named Kelpie from Lydia's past tries to take her back to Scotland after he steals a ring that is made from the moon which the fairy queen wanted to give to Edgar. There's also a ball in this episode which is something that Lydia has never attended before and since she's not very good at dancing she feels odd attending it.

This episode had a lot to with Lydia and Edgar's relationship with her believing that all the times he flirts with her are just a game which upsets her greatly because when she was young a boy pretended to like her as a prank. Although Edgar does have a habit of making inappropriate comments and his flirting often seems like it could be a joke it seems like he genuinely likes her with how it seemed he was ready to confess to her towards the end of the episode and he refers to her as his future wife.

I find it interesting that two new guys were introduced in this episode that seem to like Lydia. I'm not very fond of Kelpie because I think Lydia might be right about him just wanting to have a fairy doctor of his own. But I really liked Paul Ferman an aspiring artist that Lydia seemed to have a good time talking to. I overall really enjoyed this episode, please tell me your thoughts on this episode.

Anime Review: Hakushaku To Yousei: A Nobleman's Duty(1.04)

                       Hakushaku To Yousei: A Nobleman's Duty(1.04)Review
In this episode Lydia and her father are held prisoner by Huskley who is also looking for the blue knight's sword. Lydia apologises to her father for him having got involved and informs him that Edgar was playing a cruel joke on her when he said they were getting married which relieved her father greatly. Lydia helps Huskley and his men look for the blue knight sword because they said that they would harm her father if she didn't but while looking for the sword Huskley and all his men are taken down by Edgar and Raven.

Lydia agrees to lead Edgar and Raven to were the riddle indicates the blue knight sword is after Edgar promises to go back and save her father later. Once they find the place were the blue knight sword is hidden Edgar and Lydia both try to get the sword first since the silver key indicates a blood sacrifice must be made. Lydia finds the sword first but is unable to harm Edgar despite how often he lies to her and her suspicsion that if he had found the sword first he may have used her as the sacrifice. Edgar grabs the blade and tells Lydia that he never lies well enough to her.Lydia is able to bring Edgar back when she finds him in the merrow sea, which was very beautiful and dreamlike, and once they return the queen recognizes Edgar as an Earl and Lydia's father father had been saved.

I really liked this episode it was a fun little quest in this episode and the things that had to do with the blood sacrifice and the jewel were interesting. I also really liked that Lydia and Edgar both saved each other at different points in this episode. Please tell me your thoughts on the episode.

Anime Review: Hakushaku To Yousei: The Island of Merrow(1.03)

Hakushaku To Yousei: The Island of Merrow(1.03)Review
In this episode Lydia and Edgar head to the island of Merrow were Lydia is to contact some fairies in order to find the blue knight's sword. In this episode a little more of Raven's backstory is revealed with how he was before he met Edgar. I also like that it's revealed that the reason Edgar wants the sword is so he can get away from the people who are chasing him once and for all.

In this episode there were also many moments between Lydia and Edgar, I really liked the way that Edgar would he doesn't believe in fairies in his reality but he does believe that Lydia can see them which is something that makes Lydia a lest a little bit happy. I like the moments when Edgar shamelessly flirts with her as well. I loved that after they were attacked again by the same group as they were last episode and Lydia and Edgar had gotten away but then ran into Lydia's father, I loved that Edgar decides to just ask for Lydia's hand in marriage all out of the blue.

I'm so far really enjoyed this series and I really liked this episode. Please tell me your thoughts on this series in the comment section below.

Anime Review: Hakushaku To Yousei: My Fairy(1.02)

                                 Hakushaku To Yousei: My Fairy(1.02)Review
In this episode Lydia decides that she will help Edgar locate the marrow sword after he shows her proof that he can read the fairy language. Soon after Lydia agrees to work for Edgar some police men come abored the ship looking for a criminal who is suspect of mass murder and thievery which leads to Lydia being suspicious of Edgar once again. Before Lydia has much time to dwell on Edgar's possible criminal past after they left the ship and travelled by train while waiting for a carriage they are attacked by some people from Edgar's past who clearly wish him harm.

In this episode we also learn about Edgar's servant Raven who has Fae blood and is completely devote to Edgar because he accepts him despite his blood. Raven also seems to be a really good fighter with how fastly he's able to take down so many men, I find his character to be quite interesting. In this episode we also learn more about Edgar's past like how his family is dead and he gave away his title long ago but then had to work as a slave and he now feels that finding the marrow sword is his only hope.

I also liked how the relationship is developing between Lydia and Edgar with how Lydia didn't leave him when she had the chance to and how Edgar told her of his past and protected her at expense to himself, also he continued to flirt with her through out. I'm overall enjoying the series. Please tell me your thoughts about the series.

Anime Review: Hakushaku To Yousei: He's a Refined Villain(1.01)

                              Hakushaku To Yousei: He's a Refined Villain(1.01)Review
Hakushaku To Yousei also known as Earl&Fairy is about a girl named Lydia who is a fairy doctor(which means she can see and hear fairies  but other people can't) and on the way to going to meet her father in London she is convinced to help a man to escape from the crew of the ship. Soon after they escape Lydia learns that she is on a different ship and that the man that she helped escape is Earl Edgar Ashenbert who is a descendant of the Earl of the Blue Knights who is said to own land in both the England and the fairy world. Lydia soon learns Edgar made sure to take her with him for her to find the sword of marrow which would allow him to go to the fairy land  but  he can't find since he isn't able to see fairies so he needs Lydia to do it for him.

I like the character Lydia so far because she seems cheerful for the most part and I love that she seems to always try to convince other people that fairies are real even though she knows they can never see them and therefore she can never prove they're real. I also like Edgar but I think that Lydia is right to be weary of him since at the beginning of the episode we see him kill a man after he forces information out of him but I feel like this makes his character more interesting since for most of this episode he was doing his best to charm Lydia but he can just as easily be threatening.

I also find it interesting that it's set in 19th century England. So far I love this series and I really look forward to continuing it. Please tell me your thoughts about the series.
