Top 10 Most Unique Books I've read

1. Ellen Hopkins books: I really love these books because they are told through poetry but this poetry is easy to understand unlike most poetry and her writing has a way of making you completely understand where the character is coming from no matter how much they frustrate you. I also feel that her writing style is great because it allows for a brief glimpse into the characters sub-conscious which is almost impossible to get into in books not written in a style such as this.I also feel like her books are really different because they deal with such heavy subject matter but it just kind of tells the story through the characters point of view and while things usually don't turn out well for the characters there's no preaching or lessons being taught just characters making mistakes and either learning from them or sinking deeper into their issues.
2. Reading in the Dark: I feel like this book is unique because it's a historical fiction book where the time period isn't the focus but rather the story of the family is the focus which makes this story feel more timeless. I also think this book is different because in a lot of ways it's a coming of age story but it's an adult book and I think it's different that the family secrets are never brought to light just that the main character finds out about them and has to deal with the burden of knowing them feeling guilty for not being able to tell him but also his mother not really wanting him around because he knows the secrets.
3. Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicle: I've never read a story even close to similar to this one it uses characters from a bunch of Clamp's previous series but manages to make them all new characters who are the same but different and I love them for that. The story is about having to travel throughout multiple dimensions which is a really cool idea and it has a ton of plot twist although some them towards the end are just confusing. I also love that the story id divide in two very different section the first is more lighthearted and really deals with the group bonding into a sort of make shift family and the second half is darker and is really about them loosing those they have come to relay and also find their way back to each other.
4. Clover: This is a scifi story that it's first two volumes are one continuing story but then the next two volumes take place before the first two volumes which is pretty odd. The idea of what clovers are is very interesting but most of all what stands out in this series is the use of blank space and song lyrics through out the series.
5. Perks of Being a Wallflower: This is a book that is told through letters which is something that I don't see often but it's also Charlie's sincere desire for everyone to be happy that makes this book unique to me.
6. Manic Pixie Dreamgirl: I love how this book is more or less about the main character being wrong about his dream girl and I love that his asshole behavior is something that everyone calls him out on throughout the entire novel. I just love that this book didn't make the main character seem romantic when he wasn't and pointed out that having feelings for someone who isn't your girlfriend makes you an ass for not breaking up with her and that's all on you not the girlfriend. I just really loved how this book handled everything and I loved that it wasn't afraid to make it's main character unlikable.
7. The Darkest Powers series: I really find this series to be unique because it's such an action pack series that deals more with developing powers and plots than romance unlike the majority of paranormal YA series and I think it's better for it.
8. The Book Thief: This book is narrated by death and it's about the regular German citizens of Nazi Germany which is something that isn't shown often or sympathetically like it was in this book.
9. The Looking Glass Wars Trilogy: I just thought that this was a really unique twist on how Wonderland could be a real place how Alice's story could come to be known to the world and how Wonderland could be a dark place but also a place that felt real but fantastical.
10. Slaughter House Five: This book is very strange but also very good and it's odd because it moves around in time so much because the main character can randomly time travel but it isn't something that anyone really notices or real effects his life very much. There was also some aliens that were in the book for awhile and it all connected to the bombing of Dresden, it was just an odd but good mix of things.

Manga Review: Clover Vol.2

                                                             Clover Vol.2 Review
In this volume Sue tells Kazuhiko about herself as he takes her to Fairy Park the place which she wished she could go. Sue explains how she is a four leaf clover which she a powerful sorcerer who can not be stop by the army although she doesn't wish to to harm anyone and because she's so powerful she has to live her life all alone. She tells him about the clover project which separated the child sorcerers the government found into different groups with four leaf and three leaf clovers being the most powerful and Sue tells him that her mother was scared of her when she was young and easily gave Sue to get money from the government.

Once Sue and Kazuhiko arrive at Fairy Park Sue tells Kazuhiko how she use to talk to a singer named Ora who was very dear to Kazuhiko and had died recently. Sue reveals that her wish was for the three of them to come together.

This volume I enjoyed more than the first one because I felt the plot moved faster and we got to learn a lot more about Sue. I also found this volume to be very heartbreaking with regards to Sue's character and how the volume ends. Please tell me your thoughts on this volume.

Manga Review: Clover V.1

                                                            Clover V.1 Review

Clover is a manga by Clamp the art is lovely as always but it's different from their usual style with how there's a lot of blank space and the mood just feels different. The story is about a man named Kazuhiko who is given the task to take a girl named Su to the place she wants to go. Su is a young girl who has lived alone for almost all of her life in a greenhouse that is owned by some branch of the miltary because she is a four leaf clover, it's not really explained in this volume what that means. Since Su is a four leaf clover lots of people want to take her so she needs Kazuhiko to protect her from them on their journey.

The story and the characters are very interesting but they're not fully explained and there's a lot of hints to things that have happened in the past so it can seem a bit confusing at times. The world in which the story is set is futuristic and there seems to be a lot of talk about the underground which is all very interesting but also mysterious. I liked that there were hints at past realtionships between the characters and lots of mysterys so far. Overall I really enjoy the series and I think this volume is a good start to the series. Please tell me your thoughts on the series.

Top 10 Books I read in a day

I don't read novels in a day because when I read a book and I really really love it I try to make it last as long as possible so this list will consist entirely of manga since I almost always finish them the same day I start them.

1. Fruits Basket Volume 11: This is my favorite volume of the series although I love them all I feel that it's turning point as well as the half way point of the series. There's a good amount of character, relationship and plot development that happens in this volume. This is also the volume that makes me fear Akito the most out of pretty much all villains because this volume shows that Akito isn't the type of villain that will kill you but the type that makes you wish you were dead. While these volume did have dark moments it also had fun light happy ones and sweet romantic ones as well.

2. Fruits Basket Volume 10: My second favorite volume of the series it's mostly a light fun volume about our main characters having fun at the beach house but there's relationship and character development. Also the mood takes a dark turn once Akito shows up.

3. Fruits Basket Volume 15: This is one of the saddest and funniest volumes of the whole series. It's one of the saddest due to having Yuki's back story about his depressing childhood but it's one of the funniest because of the play Sorta Cinderella, the best version of Cinderella I've ever read/seen although really inaccurate.

4. Fruits Basket Volume 14:This volume gives us Rin's back story therefore making her one of my favorite characters of the series and her mental breakdown which also leads to her and Tohru developing an odd friendship. I also like the chapters dealing with the student council since I always find them entertaining. I also liked how Tohru's character was fleshed out a bit more in this volume.

5. Songs to Make You Smile: The first book on this list that's not Fruits Basket(I probably could have had this whole list be Fruits Basket but I decided to limit myself to 4) but it's buy the same person. This is a collection of short stories that are wonderful and sweet.

6. Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicle Volume 5: This volume finished off the arc that was set in Spirit which seemed like an old fashioned English town and I really liked the arc. It also started the Oto arc which is one of my favorites it's set in a world that has cos play and there are these creatures called oni and Fai, Sakura and Mokona run a cafe. I also love this volume because Sakura almost remembers she knew Syaoran before she lost her memories but of course fate doesn't allow her to remember.

7. Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicle Volume 6: This volume continues the Oto arc and it's just as good if not better than the last volume. This volume includes some insights into Fai's character, insights into Syaoran's past, further development of relationship, the great party were everyone gets drunk expect for Kurogane  and Seishiro appears which always makes me happy even though it's usually not a good thing for our heroes.

8. Higurashi When They Cry: Abducted by Demons Volume 2: This volume deals with Kechi's increasing paranoia and his eventual mental breakdown that ends in death as per usual in Higurashi. I love the way this volume handles his psychological state because it makes the reader see were he's coming from and it's just done really well it's even better than it's done in the anime.

9. Shugo Chara Volume 6: A lot of things happen in this volume with both Kari and Utau changing sides in this volume, I especially liked Utau's breakdown and her rediscovering why she wants to be a singer. I also just love this series in general.

10. Clover: This actually includes all four volumes, I just find this story to be so different and interesting.
